I am looking to lose some weight, tone up and get back into fitness.
The biggest issue is my diet - its certainly not the worst but needs changing to lose the weight. I am veggie and used an online PT few years back - all the focus was on highly processed proteins, eggs and tofu plus cutting out carbs. I am not against eggs and tofu - I enjoy them usually but not when forced on me everyday. I am against eating high quantities of UPF so things like protein breads and meat substitutes are not a long term option (and also not financially viable). So weight loss did not last
Meals generally all made at home and this is where I struggle with tracking and macros - I can't input a barcode for a home made veg lasagne/shepherds pie/daal etc. Cooking is all by eyeballing quantities and meals are made for whole family. This is the area I am struggling most with. I have tried to consciously include protein at each meal (eg generous serving of greek yoghurt with daal/switch out my pasta for edamame one) and amend my portions to include less white carbs and more veg/protein component but it hasn't been enough to change anything.
I have looked at meal plans but they are much harder to find for veggies and I am always skeptical that they are going to involve endless eggs like the first one did. They are also £££ which I don't have right now.
Any words of advice? Anyone want to join on the journey and support each other?
