Calorie deficit for shorter people

I'm 5'3'' and I want / need to lose a couple of stone (11 stone at the moment) but I'm struggling. I've worked out my TDEE and it's only 1784, so that means to achieve weight loss at about 1.25lbs a week I'm looking at 1300 cals a day.

The trouble is it's really not that much food. I'm miserable and hungry all the time. Any tips for how to drop to a low calorie intake without feeling hangry all the time?

I know that increasing exercise will help but I'm in an office job working 8am - 6pm and then doing family stuff most evenings, I have pilates once a week and swim once a week too. At weekends I walk the dog.

Hey, come join us on the shorties weight loss thread.

We don't have loads of tips necessarily but try to hold each other accountable. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4501520-Shorties-trying-to-lose-weight-thread-number-4

I'm half an inch shorter than you and feel your pain!

I lost 2.5 stone and it was a bit of a slog but do-able. Try not to 'waste' your calories with sweets/pastries etc. I'm a low-carber so my calories were made up of eggs, meat & fish, veg, etc.

As with all diets, you just have to get your head in the right place. Good luck, it can be done!

Find high density but low calorie (and nutritious) meals and snacks. Stir fries, cut your portions of carbs in half and replace with veg.

I'm 5'1", and 61 now which makes it an even lower TDEE.
The only thing I've found sustainable is some sort of intermittent fasting. Calorie counting every day when it's that few is just too restrictive.
