Gp text

I just had a text from my gp about how they can refer me for help with my weight! I haven’t been to the gp in years so I wonder why I would be getting this text?! Even then it wasn’t for weight, has anyone had this? Don’t know whether to be offended 🤔 I’m overweight but like I said haven’t been to gp in years I’m never really unwell, so wonder why I would get this?

They’ve probably sent it to everyone on their books who has a bmi recorded above a certain threshold. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, unless it’s something you’re interested in.

Ah good point! I hope so was starting to wonder 😳

I’m sure it’ll just be an automatic thing. Ours sends text adverts quite a lot for various things and it just looks like the system has identified people who fit the criteria from the info on their database and booted out some texts.

My BMI has always been low and I've previously received these texts. I wouldn't be concerned and don't think they can be personalised at all.

Thanks both feel silly now I am working on losing weight but don’t really feel at the point of needing help with it just yet sounds like it was just generic then
