I have been quite strictly dieting for around four months, no cakes, sweets, chocolates or wine, one main meal in the evening and something like a diet soup and rye vita at lunchtime. I’ve not cheated really, apart from once or twice. I know because I write everything I eat down, along with calories which average 800 per day. However I weighed myself at the GP today and weigh 15 stone 4 Ibs! I was shocked. I have gone down two sizes, but cannot believe I weigh so much. No idea what it was when I started, but I feel very upset. Onwards and upwards and will carry on, but I have been trying so hard, for so long.

You've gone down two sizes - that's brilliant!!!

You've gone down two sizes, so probably lost around two stone.

I'm stopping weighing myself. I'm losing inches which is what is important to me.

@Thomasina79 don’t be hard on yourself, you’ve done great so far. Down 2 dress sizes is a fantastic achievement, keep it going. I
never weigh myself and go on my clothes. I’ve focused on exercise since last year and I have lost some weight but I feel toned, stronger and generally feel better.

You are on the right track, keep it up!

This is why using the scales is not always the best idea. You've dropped 2 dress sizes, which is amazing, so the weight is obviously coming off. Don't let some numbers on the scale take away the joy of what you've achieved.

Inches and dress sizes are a much better indication of weight loss than actually weighing yourself on some scales.

Well if you didn't know your starting weight then you cNt know how much you have lost.

How tall are you? I am 5.6 and have list 29 lbs. On me that equates to one dress size.

What did you gp say about your bmi currently and have you told them you are only having 800 calories?
