How can I lose weight?

Just that really. So depressed this morning. I'm 60, recently retired and size 12. I'd like to lose at least a stone and to rid myself of the tyre of flab around my middle.
At the moment I eat sensibly - minimal breakfast, salad and cold chicken for lunch, PoN recipes for dinner, not much snacking and drink plenty of water. I've been walking at least 2 miles a day which has done nothing but give me sore knees.
I can't see what else I can do, but stepped on the scales this morning and found I'd put on another bloody pound.

Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Sign up for free trial of Noom to be reminded about where the calories come from, and the psychology of weightloss.
Log EVERYTHING - commit to doing it.

I was in the same place as you at the beginning of July and I've now lost 13lbs with 2 more to go to reach my target. I'm bloody thrilled - I haven't been this weight for over 10 years and I'm shocked by the difference it has made to how I feel/ sleep/ energy etc.

For me, I think the secret was cutting carbs almost by half and cutting out alcohol almost entirely.
Good luck!

Sometimes it’s the hidden calories in what we perceive as healthy. They all add up. I would suggest downloading a calorie counting app like My Fitness Pal and log absolutely everything that passes through your lips. You probably need to be at around 1200-1450 kcals a day to loose 1-2lbs per week, and that isn’t a lot of food to be honest. You may be surprised once you start logging all your food.
