am here but not on fridays always! will you weightwatcher and slimmers world people keep going over christmas or do you get a break from the routine?

miam · 27/11/2004 10:32

I'm here too - I was wondering where everyone had gone. The corridors on Mumsnet Mamas are decidedly echoing!! I'm doing Atkins, Fennel, but I have no plans to give it up over the holiday. I have done really well this last few months, and know that I put on weight really quickly so would hate to spoil what I have accomplished. Mince pies are OUT, but I suppose a few glasses of wine couldnt hurt.....

miam · 27/11/2004 10:34

Oh and Yorkie - thanks for showing that I had actually lost 28lbs - it sounds so much better (and is good for my motivation!). Do you think you could show my total loss every week or is that cheating?

well my xmas should be quite slimming as we are going away to a holiday cottage with Dsis and her dp, the "fat fascists" who have said they don't want xmas dinner, any snacks or crisps or chocolate eaten in front of their dd, etc. it will be like going to fat camp for a week

LunarSea · 29/11/2004 12:35

Afraid this week's poem/song won't help your diet much, but this is what my 3 year old (who doesn't understand about these things yet) has been singing to himself ever since we made gingerbread christmas trees last week. To the tune of "Jingle Bells" ....

Gingerbread, Gingerbread,
Ginger's nice I say
Oh what fun it was to make
Gingerbread today.

I'll try to come up with something a bit motivating later.

LunarSea · 29/11/2004 12:36

Fennel - you'll have to take some secret supplies and have midnight feasts in bed, so they can't see you eating!

Fennel · 29/11/2004 15:36

Lunarsea - yes we'd thought of that. it could be fun . one year we had to do that with bottles of wine in our bedroom at DP's family xmas (teetotal family).

or I could just go with it as a slimming experience.

TheFennelandtheIvy · 02/12/2004 11:35

have remembered to post my so-called loss to mumsnetmamas this week - but not lost anything. clearly am already in too festive a mood and indulging unrestrainedly

TheFennelandtheIvy · 02/12/2004 16:38

what's more have managed to choose a festive name which is already being shortened to FATI on other threads - quite fitting for a mumsnetmama I guess.

TheFennelandtheIvy · 02/12/2004 16:39

is noone else going to post and stop me wittering endlessly and inanely to myself?

FimboCLAUS · 02/12/2004 16:46

Hi Fit, have decided to call you FEN, hope you are not offended by the shortening of your name - I didn' mean it to be offensive - just thought it was funny . Anyway first time on this slimming thread thing but just thought I would let you know DH and I have been trying to eat more "healthily" rather than dieting (put on loads after having ds. I have "You Are What You Eat" book by Gillian McKeith and it really opens your eyes to what is good and what is not. Anyway we have not followed her advice strictly to a T as some of the stuff looks disgusting! But we have followed some of it and cut out most dairy products and the results have been amazing and quickly too. I can now fit into size 12 jeans which I have not been able to do for at least 6 years!

TheFennelandtheIvy · 02/12/2004 16:53

FimboClaus am not offended

LunarSeasonsGreetings · 02/12/2004 23:08

I've been trying to be extra good this week, on account of 3 Christmas dinners in the space of 7 days, starting tomorrow. And it seems to have worked (though just watch me put it all back on next week) - down 2.75lbs this week, which is the best I've done for ages.

miam · 03/12/2004 09:07

Well done Lunar!! Isnt it a great feeling? I am down another pound this week to 10.0. Next week hopefully I will be 9 stone something!!!!!! Cant believe it cos I cant remember when I was 9 stone anything. So excited!!! Hope everyone had a good week! xx

Turkiegirl · 03/12/2004 12:30

I'll post all the losses tomorrow as I will be at the Yorkshire Christmas Do tonight! Hurray!

miam · 04/12/2004 21:25

Did you behave yourself????

Turkiegirl · 05/12/2004 17:14

Results for this week:

Fennel 0.0 18.0
Miam 1.0 29.0
LunarSea 2.75 74.0
Yorkiegirl 0.0 35.0 (well I don't actually know as I didn't go this week!)

Well done everyone!
Do I feel a Christmas break coming on for Mumsnet Mamas? Not so many people around lately...

Roisin · 05/12/2004 18:34

You are all doing fantastically Smile Well done! 74 lb Lunarsea - that's incredible! Hope you enjoyed your night out on Friday, as much as we did at ours.

You and YG are fab organised people doing the necessary to 'make it happen'.

miam · 06/12/2004 09:00

Do you know, just for the four of us our total weight loss is 156lbs!!! That's 11st and 2lbs - how incredible is that - well done everyone! And thanks for all the motivation and encouragement - I certainly couldnt have got this far without you all. xx
