Not got a massive amount to loose but weight has crept up over past year and I'm starting to find my clothes tight and a bit bigger than ideal. I'd like to loose around 1 stone over the next few months, does anyone want to join me and we can support each other?

And I'm a bit bigger than idea that's meant to say, didn't make any sense there!!

I’m a week or so into losing 1-1.5 stone (or trying to). Had good success initially but have struggled with my digestion which has slowed me now.

Jellybeanfeels · 08/08/2022 23:11

I'm not going to diet as such just eat less and stop eating from 5/6pm
Also plenty water and try to walk more and do 10 minute hiit videos on YouTube every few days too

Hi, I'm hoping to lose 1 -1.5 stone too. Seems to be much harder than when I was younger (I'm mid forties)- keep losing and putting on the same few pounds! If I can consistently cut out sugary snacks that would probably so it over time but the call is very strong...

TLIMSISNW · 09/08/2022 07:25

Can I join? I’d like to lose a stone but so far have only lost a few lbs. I have started doing weights though so although I’m definitely looking more lean, I’m not actually weighing much less than I did when I started a couple of months ago.

I’m really reducing my sugar intake (I used to eat chocolate every evening), really reducing my alcohol intake and also reducing my carbs a lot (I love pasta). I feel better but I’d really like to see the numbers on the scale come down!

Jellybeanfeels · 09/08/2022 08:44

Sugar is my downfall, although I've tried keto and I managed it OK but my mood was so flat and energy so low.
I do enjoy a sugar fix now and again, it's just how to stop at going back again and again to my sweetie cupboard. Some days I am ridiculous in what I actually eat. I'd be embarrassed to write it down

Day 1 done
Stuck to 1300 cals
Feeling good, it's always good once you get A few days under your belt!

So I’m about 10 days in and have plateaued at about 1.5kg down. I’m having trouble with an IBS flare up which isn’t helping, I assume too much insoluble fibre. Hoping once I get past this I will see more results. I am supposedly at 1169 calories, but I’m sure I’ll have had maybe slightly more. And I went for a slow swim today (injury recovery)

Jellybeanfeels · 10/08/2022 07:11

I'm down 2lbs I know it's obviously water weight but it's given me a boost to see a change on scales anyway. Just bought brand new digi ones so I can be accurate with my weight.
That's just with stopping eating by 8pm on Monday (but a snack dinner) then by 5 last night, had weetabix for dinner last night, plenty water too. So motivated for today now

Jellybeanfeels · 12/08/2022 08:27

How's everyone doing?
I'm still motivated, scales haven't moved again since that initial 2lbs but hopefully this time next week I'll be another pound down and that will be of fat this time

OP posts:
CaptainBeakyandhisband · 12/08/2022 08:45

scales are not moving much (am 1.8kg down in a fortnight but slowly) but I have had a couple of good swims this week and have kept under 1300 kcal/day. I think maybe I’m changing shape, but I don’t know. No idea where the tape measure is.

Jellybeanfeels · 14/08/2022 09:50

@CaptainBeakyandhisband that's a good healthy weight loss keep going, sounds like you are doing great!!
I've had 2 cheat days this Weekend so back on it today, darent weigh myself and see that damage I've done!! 😖

Yeah - I guess 0.5kg a week is what MyFitnessPal recommends. I started with Noom though and they projected faster weight loss. I like the Noom app better for logging food but MyFitnessPal has better breakdowns of macros etc whereas Noom seems to be basically slimming world and red flags things like peanut butter which are actually good for you (in moderation). So just getting used to the new app. And we went to Nandos with the kids the other day so didn’t log that day 😩

Jellybeanfeels · 24/08/2022 20:05

How's everyone doing? I'm down about 4lbs, had a cheat weekend but back on track now. Actually trying low carb at the moment. Will be happy when I reach 7lbs mark!!

Finding it harder with a couple of weeks off work (lots of sightseeing and eating out) losing my rhythm but I’m down about 2.5kg overall. Have been using MFP and find the days when I manage to balance my macros better are the days that go well for me. Have had a couple of disaster days where I’ve lost the plot and munched a bunch of biscuits, and a family visit where I was over my calories by lunchtime but overall just plodding on.

CaptainBeakyandhisband · 31/08/2022 08:20

How are you getting on @Jellybeanfeels? Im slowly inching down on the scales, heading towards almost 3kg in a month I think. I’ve had a few disaster days, family events and eating out where I’ve been waaay over (and had a glass of wine the other evening which resulted in me raiding the cupboard), but must be doing something right. Some days I’m just super hungry, so I do eat more then, others it’s surprisingly easy. I like MFP much more than Noom and find trying to balance the macros works well.

Jellybeanfeels · 08/09/2022 21:52

Just saw this sorry!!
Oh I was off the wagon now I'm doing keto on day 5 just now.
Will update in a few weeks. I'm hoping to stick to this as I'm not feeling hungry ass I normally do.
Sounds like you are doing great @CaptainBeakyandhisband !!
3kg is good going for a month.

Can I join? I had a baby in February and so far have lost a grand total of 5kg. Would like to lose another 5 kg. Am currently 61 kg and would like to get back to around 56 kg. I've been dabbling in weight watchers and just healthy eating but kept getting sidetracked as my baby has been sleeping terribly. Baby is sleeping better now so think I can cut down on my chocolate fixes for a while. I have a rule after I have a baby: I refuse to buy new clothes until I've lost the weight! I turn 40 in a few months and would love to treat myself to something amazing.

CaptainBeakyandhisband · 08/09/2022 22:30

Thanks! Hopefully slow and steady wins the race. I’ve had a bit of a disastrous day today, ultimately I completely forgot about breakfast and then when lunchtime rolled round I was just too hungry and couldn’t stop. Then I found some chocolate stashed. Oh well, hopefully it won’t have too much impact. Though I have a training course next week and the food is always amazing. Not sure whether to try to stick to the diet or just forget it all.
