Looking for postpartum friend who wants to loose 15kg together

Sunshinexx95 · 27/07/2022 10:27

Hiii,
So who ever is going to read my post I hope we can motivate each other to loose some of our postpartum kilos.
I had a baby 2020 and 2021 and before that I was 60kg. Now I am 75!! I'm 1.64 m tall and just turned 31. I have a girl turning 2 in September and a 8 month old boy.

I'm so motivated to loose weight and I'm started low calorie diet just 5 days ago.

I would love to have some friend to chat with and keep each other motivated ❤️

Hi! I've also just turned 31, weighed 63kg pre kids, currently 73kg (down from 80kg 3 months ago) and my kids are 1.5 & 2.5.

I've started exercising properly again and being mindful of what I eat but it's hard (even harder to resist the chicken nuggets etc the kids don't finish 😂)

Definitely helpful to have someone to stay motivated with!

Sunshinexx95 · 27/07/2022 11:07

@cucumberegg
Hiiii
Oh wow, almost identical to my life 😂
I actually love to eat anything right now but I am more a chocolate eater. I am trying to think about everything I eat right now. I am not hoping to loose way to fast. Maybe 0.5-1kg a week as a maximum. Because I would rather loose it slow and keep it. Than loosing way too fast and gain it soon after.
I am trying to talk long walks 5km, 3 times a week 🤒 I am planing to start the gym so I can work on strengthening my muscles too.
I hope we can say hi to each other and tell see how it goes with weight loss 🙏😀😀😀 at least we keep each other motivated

I would be interested in this!

I would like to lose 2 stone after two pregnancies but I keep 'stop-starting' or 'starting tomorrow'. I think I need strict accountability more than motivation but yes it would help to have other people to go on this journey with 😀

I think my motivation is damaged from so many false starts. Everytime I start I already feel deep down like I'm going to fail. I really, really want to succeed!!

OP - how are you counting calories? Are you using an app?

I have a low calorie healthy eating plan ready to go I just need to do it! Can someone tell me to pull my finger out and get on with it!

Sunshinexx95 · 27/07/2022 16:40

@ChillysWaterBottle
I know that feeling!! I have done the same thing twice before and I failed. This time I'm determined to loose at least 10kg. I am trying to use an app to actually count my calories but right now I haven't found the right one because none is free to use. I am looking at MyFitnessPal which seems like a good app honestly and I am considering signing up with them just so I can be more strict.

How about we try to motivate each other's here? I am super motivated ! I started 22nd of July so not even a week ago!

OMG please count me in! im 35 and have a 3 year old and 1.5 year old.
68kg pre babies
88kg after babies
lost 15kg then put most back on again! so now im 79kg after going through a major house renovation and living with my inlaws.

But i;d like to get pregnant again before the end of the year so realllly keen on getting down to 70kg at least! but ive lost all motivation.

@ChillysWaterBottle myfitnesspal was my biggest help with losing the 15kg!

cucumberegg · 28/07/2022 11:44

Yeah I put everything in to MyFitnessPal, literally everything. I only aim to eat around 1400 cals a day so I need to be careful. I kind of fell in to a trap of not documenting the little things, like I'd eat half a cheesestring and half a pack of crisps with the kids and would just ignore it cause it's hardly any calories, but it's still 100 calories and that 2 or 3 times a day of ignoring tiny snacks adds up!

My husband is super super fit so he's taken me under his wing at the gym, I've only just got feeling back in my legs today from Monday mornings leg workout. We've booked a holiday for early October too which is my motivation, it's much easier when I've got a weight loss deadline to stay focused!

cucumberegg · 28/07/2022 11:46

Also realised I'm not eating enough in the morning and picking at bits all day because of it so I'm trying to work on that a bit. Thinking of making lunch my "big meal" of the day instead of waiting until dinner. I work from home and have a lot of free time so definitely guilty of boredom eating too 😩

Sunshinexx95 · 29/07/2022 20:38

Hi everyone
I am sorry but my phone or email didn't sent me any notifications from this chat 😭.
I have been on 1200 cal a day for 7 days and I was 75kg. I weight myself and I am 73.5. But I know that is water weight so I am hoping if I keep this low carb diet I will loose some more...
How is everyone doing?

Keen to join you all, I could really use the motivation and accountability.
also two children, eldest is 4 and youngest 20 months.
I was 65 kilos before either of mine and then got back to about 68 after the first. But we’ve had a big lifestyle change and I’m struggling to
get back on track after number 2. Currently sitting at about 75 and have been trying to commit to loosing for the last couple of months without really doing it. I’m 165cm. This just feels much too heavy and having seen some recent holiday pics, I’ve been really sad about how I look.

Sunshinexx95 · 01/08/2022 09:22

@OnWednesdays
Hiii and welcome to the chat
After all you have had 2 babies and that is the prise we pay. And we should really be proud of our selfs because we made 2 little human beings and it is not easy not to put on weight. And it is even harder after giving birth because I still get cravings and I eat my kids leftovers.

We are all in the same boat weighing around 75kg and 163-165cm tall. So how have everyone been doing? Any improvement? Any advise?

I tend to wake up with my kids and have:

  • a cup of coffee with
  • 2 boiled egg or 2 rice cakes with Gouda cheese

Lunch

  • salads with chicken breast/ meat/ tuna

And in the afternoon before 7 pm

  • some kind of rice cake or small meal depending if I have left overs.

I weighed myself few days ago and I was 72.5kg
I started this diet on the 22nd of July.

I need to reach 60kg and I would be very satisfied

I’ve been away for a couple of days so a bit late to reply.
I’ve previously done the body coach and found the recipes really good. Going to attempt that again. The crux of it being, cut carbs, eat lots of veg but in good meals which keep you full, and get some exercise in about 5 times a week.
I love exercise and always feel better for it, but sometimes finding the time and motivation is the struggle.
also having healthy snacks to hand really key…otherwise the crisps come out!

how’s everyone getting on?

Sunshinexx95 · 04/08/2022 12:39

@OnWednesdays
Hii
I am glad someone is still watching and commenting in this thread

I hope you had a nice break.
I am trying to eat a little bit of everything but not to much carbohydrates. I am eating a lot of vegetables.
I haven't lost a lot of weight so far but I can tell a difference in my body shape if you get what I mean.
I go out for walks every other day for 5 km which is both physically and mentally relaxing especially being without my 2 kids for an hour. I feel I need that break 😝 I hope it doesn't make me a terrible mother

Following with interest. I also have 2 kids (2.5 years and 3 months). Was underweight before them but put on 3 st with each pregnancy (🥲) and never fully got back to my pre-pregnancy weight after DS1 so still have around 1st 7lbs to lose this time around. DD2 is only 3 months so trying to be kind to myself but it’s hard when I look back on old photos pre kids and see how slim I used to be with virtually no effort. Now I feel like my body just holds onto fat for dear life!! Attempting to do the 16:8 fast whilst reducing carbs and hoping for consistent 1lb weight loss a week.

OnWednesdays · 09/08/2022 09:16

👋👋👋

I’ve started the day with some Body Coach granola.
heading out soon, taking fruit for the road and got some gammon and salad prepped for lunch.
getting myself back into the right headspace hopefully!

Sunshinexx95 · 09/08/2022 09:19

@Doughnuttie

Welcome 🙏 we can do this together it doesn't have to be fast. I want to loose the weight gradually and not to put it back on.
I started 22nd august with 75 kg
Today it is 9th of august and I am 71.8 kg
After 2 weeks of cutting carbohydrates I heard u start losing weight which I am experiencing now so I want to give everyone hope and motivation

Morning,

I actually have a very similar situation, although a bit more weight to lose. I gained a lot of weight throughout my fertility treatment and twin pregnancy and have struggled to lose it since I had my twins 10 months ago. I’ve finally started to make some progress (partly in thanks to another supportive MN thread), but it would be great to hear from others in the same position. I started out around 60-65kg before fertility treatments but went up to 92kg after having my twins. Currently weighing in at 84.5kg and hoping to get down to 70-75kg by the end of the year (then the goal for next year is to drop the rest). Trying to take it slower, as I want to keep it off for good. I was previously very for and sporty, so have found this quite a difficult change.

Will be great to find and hopefully help give others some motivation.

NamechangeTTC · 15/08/2022 00:14

Can I join? I’m heavier - baby has just turned 1, has allergies and I’m bf so I have some issues with finding suitable foods!

started at 114kg immediately pre delivery, 99.5kg in April when I decided I needed to do something and I’m 82.9 now. Still about 10-15 to go but baby steps!

calorie counting and exercising with 1200+500 for bf calories.

cucumberegg · 17/08/2022 12:39

Well I forgot all about this. I've not actually lost any weight but I've been exercising loads. I'm bridesmaid in 3 weeks and my dress was suuuuuper tight last month like it worried me it was tight and now it's actually a bit big! So it's not all numbers on the scale (although in my head it really is). I've been up and down with mega healthy weeks and loads of exercise then going to kids parties and eating loads of rubbish and then "treating myself" to a glass of wine at night. I'm going on holiday at the end of next month so that should hopefully keep my motivation going!
