Am I doing enough

Since having my second child in May 2021 I gained about 1.5 stones over what I'd like to reasonable be.

I really didn't care less for most of the time since because I was so busy with my kids, sleep deprived etc.

Around his first birthday I made some small changes and I'm slowly seeing results.

I've been trying to eat protein in every meal, salad for lunch, smaller portions. cut back on alcohol, only 1 takeaway a month (was every Saturday), saying no to biscuits 😢 and I've been making sure I walk 8-10 thousand steps a day. Also been doing occasional 10 minute yoga work outs or 15 minutes on my husbands rowing machine.

I have a 3 and a 1 year old and do 99% of the childcare, husband works long hours, no not feasible for me to go to classes yet as he works evenings.

Anyway - I've slowly lost 6lbs in 2.5 months. Is there anything else I could do to speed it up? I'd love to lose another stone

Thanks

If you aren’t accurately tracking calories you may be eating more than you think making weight loss slower. Weight loss is mostly diet rather than exercise.

work out your tdee here, that’s the amount of calories to stay as you are. Reduce the total amount by 15-20% to get a weight loss calories target. You will need to weigh and track everything to find out how many calories you are actually consuming. If you drink a bottle of wine a week that can be over 500 calories -equivalent of 1/3 of a days food calories in some cases! if you aren’t weighing then it’s easy to eat more calories than you think.

@Dontwanttooffendlocals ah yes. Of course! Somehow forgot about keeping track of calories. I started right away. apparently I need to cut about 500 from my sustaining total which is 1924. 😩
Let's see if this speeds anything up though.
