How to lose menopausal stomach without dieting?

I’ve tried dieting many times and just end up putting it all on again and more!

I’m a size 16 but creeping up to 18 😩

How can I lose my menopausal stomach? Due to chronic pain I can’t run or even walk far, I don’t swim either. I guess I’m looking for some exercises to tone that area.

It is diet I’m afraid as the dreaded middle age spread is down to where fat is laid down. Are you on HRT? This can help a bit. I only lost mine by dieting and getting towards the lower end of my BMI. I already exercised and was pretty toned but that didn’t stop the belly, losing weight did. There is no exercise that can spot shift an area where fat sits.
An expanding waistline is sometimes considered the price of getting older. For women, this can be especially true after menopause, when body fat tends to shift to the abdomen

I am on hrt, yes.
I’m considering 18:6 fasting, I’d there anything in particular I then need to cut out of my diet apart from the obvious?
I’m sure there must be exercises that tone that area though?

It’s not a muscle toning issue though, it’s a fatty deposit due to aging and food excess issue.
it will be the last area to shed excess fat deposit as well due to a variety of female hormones.
Dr Mary Clair Haver had several very good approaches; increased protein, increased fiber, and high healthy fats. Not low carb as fruit encouraged but very low processed foods.

If you’re around a size 18 it is a matter of losing fat not building muscle that will make your stomach look better so I’d look to create a caloric deficit, you don’t need to go running etc don’t worry

You probably don't want to hear it but losing the carbs is going to be the only think likely to help, as it will help get rid of bloat. I.e. cutting out wheat, sugar, alcohol among other fun things.

That is the shape of you now.what would it be like to accept it?why, who taught you, gave you the belief that its a bad thing?you or the society we live in.
How would it feel to love yourself as you are. Or be grateful for what thatvtummy has done for you.
Why the need to lose it.
Also dieting doesn't work.ywt you seek to go on another?your on that vicious cycle and the billion dollar industry of dieting has caught you.
Diets don't work.
Work on your body image.
Get some health behaviours in instead of the need for itvyo be about weight loss.

What s the middle age spread vs thinner sum?who made thinner flatter better?
Is life happier when you diet.
What will getting rid of it emprove.and why?
You are notvuour size
Diets do not work.
Your body is clever.it will fight back
Nor can you choose really how your body distributes or gets rid of muscle fat deposits.its in your DNA.

Get a calorie counting app. Workout your TDEE. Most allow you to work out calories for weight loss. Then track your intake. Aim for slow weight loss so your calorie reduction isn’t too extreme.

i have lost a stone doing that. And it wasn’t too difficult because my calorie intake was still about 1500 a day. Never feel hungry. I also walk 30 minutes at least everyday.

good luck.

@kateandme , abdominal fat is really unhealthy and linked to several life shortening diseases. Cancer being one.
yes a person needs to love themselves but also love themself enough to get themselves in the best possible shape too live a long healthy life.
