I seem to have this urge that makes me sabotage myself anytime i am doing well on a diet. A psychiatrist would have a field day !!

I'm on w/w now. 3rd week, weigh in in about 30 mins. Are you on a diet or off diets at the moment ?

SantaFio2 · 25/11/2004 12:53

off atm, need a kick to get on and stay on

good luck for the weigh in

After I had my DS, I thought I'd never be thin again as had ballooned to 11 stone 4. Thankfully, I'm now down to 8 stone 10 and in all my old clothes. Well worth the effort IMO.

Donbean · 25/11/2004 12:56

Get yourself a good old fashioned d&v bug, it got 1 stone off me, id highly recommend it.....just 3 stone left to go now.

Kayleigh · 25/11/2004 12:58

cellulitequeen, I dream of being 11st 4

cellulitequeen · 25/11/2004 13:22

Stick at it Kayleigh - you can do it!

CountessDracula · 25/11/2004 13:24

yes I have the d&v bug with out the v - have lost 5lbs!

CountessDracula · 25/11/2004 13:26

plus stomach has shrunk so only need 3 peas to fill me up - am going to become v v thin vv soon at this rate (in my dreams!)

Perhaps the problem is the way that you think about diets SF2, if you think of them as something short-term and horrible that you have to endure to get what you want then it will always be difficult. If you were to make a lifestyle change that you intend to keep for the rest of your life, so only changing what you can without feeling deprived and aiming for healthy rather than drastic weight-loss, then it might be easier for you.

tbh I think thin is over-rated, thin women aren't any happier than I am and the ones who have worked hard to be thin seem to be completely neurotic about what they eat and whether they might have gained a single pound. I think curvey looks much better anyway, I'm aiming for Nigella Lawson/Marilyn Monroe/new-look Geri (I thought skinny-yoga Geri looked ill).

SantaFio2 · 25/11/2004 14:07

bran, I do think about diets wrong, maybe me whole life tbh. i think if i start being sensible now its the end of my youth maybe being a bit too deep now!

i am aiming for at least a dress size drop, maybe top end of my 'ideal' weight

aaarrrggghhh why cant i do it?

You don't have to grow-up if you don't want to SF2 , have a second childhood and teach yourself the eating habits you wish you'd been taught in your first childhood. So when you turn things down, even in your mind, instead of saying "No, I can't/I'm not allowed" say "Bleugh, that tastes disgusting, I'm not having that".

Kittypickle · 25/11/2004 14:18

Don't give up Fio. WW are doing another of their re-launches in Jan, but I think this time there will be some very different stuff and a lot more emphasis on individual eating habits. I'm horrendously bad at diets but never stop believing that I will finally lose the weight and keep it off one day, maybe I am delusional !

SantaFio2 · 25/11/2004 14:19

thanks bran

i did used to eat healthily, its my bloody husband who has got me eating like a pig, plus having kids has me inclined to put more weight on for some reason!

did anyone see Chubby Chasers last night. They were all very large ladies and were having the time of their lives. They looked good and on the whole were really happy. One said she felt sorry for all the overweight people who were spending all their time and energy on trying to lose weight instead of enjoying their lives.
