Has anyone tried the very fast 800?

"The rapid weight loss phase involves eating 800 calories a day. The key to feeling satiated, while restricting calories, is to consume a moderately low-carb Mediterranean-style diet, rich in protein, fibre and healthy fats.
If this approach is right for you, we recommend that you stay on this stage for a minimum of 2 weeks, though you can follow the plan for up to 12 weeks depending on your goals and how much weight you have to lose."

Has this worked for anyone? I'm looking to try at least 2 weeks. I have around 2 stone to lose and getting desperate as nothing is working. I row or go on the spin bike almost daily and eat well.

Willing to give this a go if I can have any feedback from anyone who has tried this.

If you do a search for fast 800 there's already a couple of threads. I'm not on them but have been thinking of starting up myself and just got one of the recipe books

easy and lots of choice. Some excellent low calorie meals that I go back to to help maintain/loose a bit more. Worth every penny.

I've bought the book off Amazon and I was planning on eating a meal at night which is mostly protein and veg. Do I still need to pay for the plan?

Fast 800 ONLINE, 100x better than any book.

icelollycraving · 10/07/2022 07:05

I did it before. I actually really liked it. I lost almost 4 stone.

Shhhhh223 · 11/07/2022 17:37

I’ve started today! Want to lose a 1st. I like to hear other people doing well on it, it keeps me motivated

hobbledyhoy · 11/07/2022 23:07

Yeah I find it's been really helpful in losing and also maintaining in terms of food choices. Lost around 3 stone, clearer skin and felt better than I have in years. There is definitely a mental clarity that comes from your brain burning ketones and not glucose. Intermittent fasting is just a habit now and tend to average out around 1500 calories so quite easy to maintain.

Can I just clarify something.

When it says I can have 800 calories a day - obvs I'm fasting and having the calories as part of my dinner - is it a general healthy meal or does it need to be a specific meal?

Example, we get hello fresh and usually pick the dinners which are under 650 calories -
Mostly the weight watchers ones so mostly protein.

But say I was out for dinner, could I pick anything on the menu that was under 800 calories?

Being more simple lol, can I eat anything I want (within reason) so long as it's less than 800 calories for my meal?

I think it needs to be as low carb as possible so you go into ketosis, that’s what starts fat burning. The problem with any low cal meal is it could be made up of low cal but high carb ingredients…. That’s what I took from it but I might be wrong

Notoironing · 13/07/2022 12:15

Can anyone share their favourite recipes on fast 800?

Shhhhh223 · 13/07/2022 12:34

pizza portabello mushrooms were lovely , I had those last night. I’ve just got the blue book and there are some lovely looking recipes in it. I can’t wait to start cooking!

BippityBobbityBoo · 13/07/2022 12:47

reading with interest. Does anyone have any links to forums or resources I can look at without spending any £. I’m currently skint!

willowglass · 13/07/2022 12:51

Is this the Michael Moseley thing? I was about to sign up to an Insta ad for this today but ninety nine quid for three months!!!

PeterCannaeRun · 13/07/2022 12:53

I did it for 2 weeks before switching to a more keto diet then more intermittent fasting. In that first 2 weeks I dropped 14lbs, I had just over 2 stone to lose.

I found it relatively easy to do, lost inches off my waist and body fat. I meal planned and did it with DH. I did buy the recipe book but there is a lot of information online.

PiffleWiffleWoozle · 13/07/2022 12:55

Yes I used the books and lost a stone which I have kept off. All the recipes are delicious. Buy the books!

JohannSebastianBach · 13/07/2022 12:59

I did it with the books.
Lost two stone in 12 weeks.
In restaurants I usually order salads and ask for dressing on the side.
You need to cut carbs on it and make it 800 cals of protein, fat, veg, salad otherwise you will be starving hungry.
I felt brilliant after the first week which was a bit rubbish.

BrandNewBicep · 13/07/2022 13:05

I followed it last year hoping for an epic weight loss. Apart from the first 2 weeks, I lost between 1/2 and 1lb a week, which is no more than when I am just low carbing. For me it wasn't worth the misery.

aGeekInJapan · 13/07/2022 13:59

To be honest, with a young baby to keep me busy, I have easily made it to 3/4pm to sit down to some lunch so I could stretch that to 5/6pm for dinner.

I'll give it a go!

I did this last year and lost 5.5 stone in 7 months. It does work, I ate mainly eggs, ham, chicken, fruit & salad, pickled onions etc.
