Weight loss after 2 c-sections

Hi….I had my 2nd emergency c-section 16 weeks ago and I am finding it extremely difficult this time to try and get my stomach back to “normal”

After my first section it wasn’t too bad to lose weight and reduce my stomach…..I never fully lost the small “pouch” of skin that sits just above my scar but it did go down.

This time around I’m finding it really hard.I am dieting and exercising and the “pouch” just will not get any smaller.

Both sections were emergency, but this one resulted in a much bigger scar and issues with healing afterwards.

Any advice from anyone at all? :-D

Hi @TarnyaB , I'm in an almost identical boat...! My second c section baby was born 20 weeks ago, and I too had a terrible recovery second time round (6 lots of antibiotics up until 12weeks pp as my scar wouldn't heal and kept reopening)

I had put on over 3stone when pregnant so had alot to lose...(I had enormous bumps but little weight gain elsewhere)
I've lost almost a stone and a half in the last 8 weeks just by calorie counting and my pouch has reduced greatly but it's def still there and much more prominent than after my first. I'm about half a stone off my goal weight but I think even then I'll have a wee pouch...!

Sorry I don't have anything particularly useful to add, just that you're absolutely not alone with it!

Thankyou - nice to know it's not just me struggling :-D

I'm the same, had massive bumps both times but actually lost weight overall due to horrendous Hyperemesis that lasted the full pregnancy.

Im going to try and reduce my calories a little more and up the exercise 🤞🏼

Oh that sounds awful...! I had bad sickness with my DD but it cleared around 15/16weeks, thankfully!

Def not just you... I think I'll keep trying to lose a bit more body fat to minimise it, but think I'm stuck with it now to be honest!

Following, I'm 2.5 years on and it's one of the main reasons I want to lose weight, the overhang frequently smells (sorry a bit tmi)

I've lost about 6lbs so far and noticed my overhang is just a little flabbier, more floppy, not sure thats a good thing yet 😅
