and reduce the maintenance calorie amount by 15-20% to get a calorie target to aim for. Too low isn’t sustainable. Slow and steady is better than too low, dropping it in a rush then piling it back on again.

As above, don't cut your calories too low. Consistency is everything so you need something you can stick to in the long term.

Intermittent fasting (for me that means no breakfast on average 5 out of 7 days per week) combined with low carb. No calorie counting and plenty of higher ('good') fats e.g. avocado, salmon, full fat greek yoghurt plus protein and plenty of veg.
