I have 80 lbs to lose to get to a healthy weight. I've just weighed a 4lb packet of flour and cannot believe just how heavy it is. I genuinely cannot understand where all this excess fat is managing to hide on me 😄 Perhaps it's hiding in plain sight and it's just me that thinks I look okay though. I know I'm overweight but I honestly do not look in the mirror and see 20 excess packets of flour of fat. I cannot believe I'm carrying around this amount of weight on my poor bones and joints ! I feel quite shocked at how deluded I've been about the reality of how I must look. Just thinking out loud really.

It’s a shock that is for sure..

80lb is quite a lot, it's almost half my body weight and I'm not stick thin, just on the edge of health weight/overweight by NHS guidelines. Are you very tall perhaps?

Well done for acknowledging you want to get healthier. What's your plan for weight loss?

I've noticed this. People are really surprised by how much weight I've lost, -and by how much I have left to lose.

If I stacked up 5.5 stone of butter I wouldn't be able to carry it.

When I look at photos of my mum before she lost weight, she looks as though she's been inflated. She didn't look that way at the time, I'm sure!
