… because straight forward calorie counting has stopped working. Since turning 40 I’ve gained if I have over 1200 a day. My metabolism must be through the floor. Until this year I’ve been able to lose if I ate 1000 a day. Not any more. I’ve been 11st for 4 months. I’m doing 10,000 to 15,000 steps a day, and (being completely honest) don’t have time for more exercise. I’ve tried cutting out bread/ pasta/ alcohol but no luck. I’ve tried 16:8 for a week (which was as long as my willpower lasted on zero results!) Any suggestions as to how to lose weight?
I don’t want to cut calories much more (and yes, I weigh everything!)

Go to your GP and get bloods checked?

I think in your position I’d mix low carb with fasting.

Yes, sorry, should’ve mentioned! Bloods all perfect, better than expected at my age apparently (I was slightly disappointed as hoping for a quick fix!)

@RudsyFarmer fasting for how long/ how often? I’ve not tried that for fear of further damaging my metabolism but I’m getting desperate!
also, how long on low carb to see results? I tend to get disillusioned after a week. Is it worth pushing through?
