I want to lose half a stone by the end of June

And two more stone after that but half a stone would be a really good starting point.

Would anyone like to join me? I really feel I need help with this. I lost two and a half stone last year and unfortunately have gained a stone and a half back, really annoyed with myself.

Planning on weighing on Thursdays since the last day of June is a Thursday.

I'll join! I never seem to stick with anything but it's beyond a joke now. Youngest is 6 and I'm still carrying baby weight and then some. I'm going to a wedding in July and really want to look a bit better in my dress. Starting weight 13st13.

Can I join? Booked a holiday last night, knowing I’d have about half a stone to lose to feel comfortable but I weighed myself this morning and it’s actually 12lb! Calorie counting over here, which in turn makes me not snack on chocolate and cake (my main problem).

I have a stubborn half stone to lose, and I need to accept that isn't just going to happen through luck.

My plan is no snacking, no alcohol in the week, and keep an eye on portion sizes.

I've just started couch to 5k and am determined to move more (10k steps a day) plus I am calorie counting using my fitness pal

I want to do this too (although using KGs as for some reason I don’t feel shame around those but I do around the same weight in stone 😄). I’m just eating less (small plate etc) and doing more things other than eating - reading, walking, house jobs, RESTING. I shove food in for escape during the after school hours when I really need a rest.

So Google tells me that’s 3kgs ish. Baby#3 is 10 weeks old and we have 2 holidays in August… not sure I can lose that much by end of June as I never lose quickly. But I have food issues so don’t want to do anything too restrictive or unsustainable.

150lbs this morning which is 10.7 stone. If like to be 144lbs/10.2 stone by early July.

when I’ve done it before I’ve fasted till lunch and then had overnight oats for lunch (calorie counter on my fitness pal) but we have no plain yoghurt in so will start that tomorrow and have left over roast veg and chicken sausages for lunch today. Not sure about dinner yet. Going to the gym after work.

Welcome to all - lots of determination around :)

My biggest challenge is that we meal plan quite well and cook a lot of rice based dishes which work super well for spouse and kids, and budget. But doesn't for me for the carbs angle. So I am returning today to 2 of my 3 progned strategy thats rid me a stone in the last few months - time restricted eating (Easy peasy for me) and portion control. The controlling carbs aspect will join a bit later - am confident it's going to work again!

I’m on day two of green juices and one meal a day (from Wednesday I’ll have two juices and two meals and then 1 juice plus three meals from next Sunday).
Not loving the juices (swamp water) but they are not as bad as I thought they would be and not hungry although that could be because I have covid.

Hi all,
My starting weight is 9st 9 1/4lbs. I would ideally like to be 8.12 but I think 9 is more realistic for now.
Today hasn't been the best food wise. For breakfast I had a spinach, mushroom and tomato omelette. Then some nuts, 2 dates. A brie sandwich for lunch with two squares of dark choc (90%). 3 veggie sausages, mash veg and gravy for dinner and Greek yog with honey for pudding. I am due on next week and I am ravenous!

Stuck to it all day, no idea if what I've eaten is ok but it's less than I usually eat so that's a win and only eaten between 12-7pm

Lunch - salad, yoghurt, grapes
Mid aft - sugar free jelly
Dinner - feta quiche, low sugar baked beans, salad on the side, strawberries and Greek yoghurt

Loads of water and some squats and weights

I've weighed in at 64kg exactly this morning. Not as bad as I thought, considering we were away over half term and there was a lot of food! It puts me at the top of a healthy BMI though. If I could get down to 60kg before the summer holidays I would be very happy.

Intermittent fasting is definitely do-able, but can you have milk in tea? I can’t seem to function without it.

Hiya so as i said individual strategies never worked beyond a couple weeks but the 1.5 stone I had to lose was lost very quickly between March and May this year by combining -

  1. Time restricted eating (2-8 pm)
  2. Controlled carbs (no grains or potatoes - but otherwise nothing more dramatic than that)
  3. A small children’s bowl for my lunch/dinner, no seconds.

it worked ridiculously well because suddenly somehow my appetite and body adjusted to it. It sounds so intense but it sort of just wasn’t. And the 1.5 stone fell off.

then for last 3 weeks I’ve maintained by doing nothing specific so starting off again on the 3 routes.

I was guided by the fact that I couldn’t be doing separate meals/cutting out food groups as we are super busy as a household. So for my two meals a day (lunch and dinner) i usually eat what they eat minus the carbs. This has been tricky because a lot of our budget friendly cooking involves rice based dishes (biriyani which is just spices rice and chicken is a favourite) but I’ve learnt to eat the chicken and yoghurt dips etc from it for example.

Posting for accountability!!

Really bloody pleased this morning as was 10st 8lb (down 2lb from this time last week) and I'll be over the moon once I get the right side of 10 & a half stone... that could feasibly be by the end of weekend! BUT I've got two nights out tonight and tomorrow both involving dinner and friends and I really need to stay on the straight and narrow. "Wedding diet" is at least a good reason I can talk about (for some reason I feel like it gives me more permission than simply "I'm trying to lose weight" which is messed up)
What strategies does everyone use to make sure you don't undo all your hard work during social occasions?
I'm really realising social eating/drinking is my downfall but I can't become a hermit until this diet is over Sad

Social eating and drinking are my downfalls too - even just popping to someone's for a cuppa feels rude to turn down a biscuit or worse, home made cake!

I can't do half measure either, going to a party on Friday night, and will either be water and no nibbles or all the food and alcohol, never just one drink and a few nuts.

I have no idea because I can put on 2 kilos overnight it seems 🤣

I think I’m doing well though, not eating between meals, smaller plate, eating with the kids meaning I’m only cooking one dinner, meaning I’m around food a whole lot less (I mindlessly pick at food while I’m cooking!). Feel good! Going to try and hammer the kettle bell but really hard when my 10 week old is always on me. Only done 2 out of my 5 walks so far this week 😬 too hot to walk with baby carrier and DH away!

I'm in - need to lose a stone for school reunion (11st to 10st)

I have no willpower, ferocious appetite , love wine at weekends and do fuck all exercise (dodgy knees) .....it's looking good isn't it!

I tried cutting back for a week...keeping a food diary and portion control couple of weeks ago and lost nothing.

Already had 4 mini sausage rolls, a banana and packet of crisps before seeing this thread 😩

Apparently I’ve lost 6lb in three days. Absolutely not right. I do feel far less bloated though. It’s my birthday today so a fair amount will go back on and I’ll start again tomorrow.

Well I'm giving myself a 6/10 so far for being good yesterday/today.... tonight will be trickier! Haven't done much exercise this week which isn't great either. Come on willpower!!
