Starting my diet tomorrow! I know there’s no time like the present but I’m going out for dinner later so.. I’m planning on calorie counting as it’s worked for me in the past. Only problem is I have no idea what to buy from the supermarket later. I know what’s healthy and what’s not but I find myself struggling on meals especially for dinner. Any suggestions? I’m going aldi if that helps

I buy in plenty of quick cook low cal veg like asparagus, green beans, baby corn, mushrooms, broccoli. They can be steamed, roasted, stir fried and eaten in big quantities to fill you up.

Serve with meat that's been seasoned with a spice rub rather than a creamy or sugary sauce.

Tinned tomatoes are handy too, can make a quick sauce or soup using the tomatoes as a base.

Snacks, things like babybel, eggs for boiling and keeping in the fridge, beef jerky if you like it, cottage cheese (full fat it's nicer and more filling), Greek yoghurt (real stuff not low cal Greek style), berries are lower calorie than other fruits and go well in yoghurt or porridge.
