Hi just wondering if anyone taking saxenda has tried staying in the lowest dose? I am on day 3, considering trying this if I get some results this week but wonder if this would wear off? So far just feel mildly nauseous and a bit less hungry

Hi, when I first started Saxenda I found that upping my dose weekly (as recommended) was fine but when I got to the highest dose I experienced severe vomiting. I took a break but started again a few weeks ago and I am now just sticking to the 0.6 dose as it curbs my appetite enough to see a change on the scales but without any nasty side effects.

At the end of the day you know your body and what you can tolerate (for me feeling nauseous was enough) so I would say just see how you go. If you find that you cannot handle a higher dose, stick with what works for you. Wishing you all the best!!

Thank you!

I'm on day one but was thinking of staying on 0.6 for 3 weeks as I have lots of things on where I ksut can't risk having side effects for. I've read on other threads that people stay on whatever does they feel is working for them. If it is curbing your appetite enough to make good food choices then stick to that dose.

I'm thinking the same @Hillrunning fair few things on next couple of weeks and have heard some not great stories on side effects with higher doses. Day 4 today have seen a slight shift in scale and definitely finding it easier to stick to less food. Good luck to you both on your journey

Hi - can I ask if you are still taking it?

I tried that it didn't work at all

I am taking 0.6 and my appetite has blunted. I am sticking to the low cal diet too without any hunger. I am losing around around a quarter of a pound a day which doesn’t sound much, but at least it is going down. I am under 14 stone now (14 stone 11) which for me is amazing. I am 5 ft 6 inch and aged 67. They say a slow loss is likely to be lasting. I have had no side effects from the medication so will stick with this dose for now. I have also, I hope, completely given up alcohol which was my bugbear, though intend to have a couple on evenings out which are rare enough!

good luck everyone. I am sure we will all get there. I have small aims now and will rejoice if I get to 14 stone (I remember being 9 stone when I was 20. Sigh)

My doctor said to stay on the lowest dose for as long as possible. Less expensive, less side effects, but enough blunt my appetite and recognise being full. I’d rather lose more slowly and eat small regular meals - this is a mental journey as well. Good luck girls.

I'm on day 6, I will try to stay on 0.6 for a few weeks.. I find I'm absolutely able to curb my food cravings so much more...
Has anyone done 0.6 for a month?

Holly008 · 26/07/2023 23:47

I’ve been on 0.6 for just over 6 weeks and have just started noticing my appetite a little more. When I first started I had no side effects and it absolutely killed my appetite. I think anyone taking it should stay on the lowest dose that works until it doesn’t!

I know this thread is from awhile ago but I’m 11 days in to taking Saxenda and I’ve been holding on the 0.6 dose because I started seeing results quickly. I’m down about 8lbs and while the weight loss is a little faster than I’d prefer, it feels so great to finally see some movement! I am also running 3-5 times a week and walking 1-2 days a week so that probably helps. I’m going to continue at the lower dose until I have a plateau for 2-3 days and then I’ll up it to 1.2mg.

I stayed on 0.6 and it was effective for about 4 months until I needed to increase it. Then I run out so I had to stop taking it. Best wisjes

Hi I just started Saxenda
The first week I noticed a huge decrease in appetite
Week 2 I increased the dosage as recommended but now have diarrhea
My specialist did say follow my gut
Has anyone else increased it more slowly than the ,6?
