I’m starting my Saxenda journey today! Anybody else on Saxenda with tips or success stories? I have about 10 stone to loose so a long way to go.

Sorry, should read 0.6+ 3 clicks

takemetomars · 12/07/2022 18:31

Just one pound off this week but disappointed as I found this past week very hard due to the fatigue. 8.5 pounds off in 3 weeks

pokerdone · 12/07/2022 20:34

So I finally braved it for a late week one weigh in ... 4lbs off! Grin

Has anyone took their Saxenda on holiday? I am only carrying hand luggage. Will I need my prescription etc? I'm half thinking of leaving it for the week and then getting back on when I'm back.

@takemetomars but 8.5lbs in 3 weeks is brilliant! Well done Grin

takemetomars · 12/07/2022 20:43

Thank you @pokerdone. I know the total loss is good. I really didn't eat much last week and found it all really hard BUT I did drink quite a bit of alcohol over the weekend - family event which I was hosting- so I guess that's why. I don't recommend low blood sugar from drinking combined with low blood sugar from not eating enough. I felt utterly shit! Lesson learned

Yes ! @empireemmy - love ur positive attitude Smile
Think walking everyday is a great idea - I might start that too. Think that doing more exercise is maybe my missing link.

EEKE · 13/07/2022 07:48

@pokerdone thanks for the tip - I will try nutracheck

Lyricallie · 13/07/2022 08:22

You're all doing great. I'm on like week 9 or so. But had covid and really bad sickness so went back down from 3mg and restarted so now back up to 2.4 after a few weeks. Feeling absolutely crap today the wind is awful and running to the loo which is not ideal as I have a 5 hour drive later 😬

Chattycatty · 13/07/2022 13:38

Hi all I'm 15 lbs down since the 7th of June I'm really pleased with that especially as I've had a social thing on every weekend since i started. A nsv though is I'm down from clothes size 22/24 to 20 in bottoms and 18 in tops.😁

Catinka · 13/07/2022 13:48

Hi, I’ve just started Saxenda today, I’ve got about 3 stone to loose. Feel ok so far! Just wondering what ‘clicks’ are 🤔

Chattycatty · 13/07/2022 16:04

There are 10 clicks between each dose eg 0.6-1.2 when you twist the pen the count the clicks if you are going up by quarter or half doses.

Catinka · 13/07/2022 17:40

Thanks! How many days did you all stay on 0.6 before adding clicks?!

troppibambini6 · 13/07/2022 17:56

Hi everyone feel like I've stuck a bit.... not sure if I've become a bit complacent and few bad habits are creeping back in.
I've gone up 2 more clicks so and have had a better day. Hopefully the scales will move a bit quicker!

troppibambini6 · 13/07/2022 20:59

@Catinka until I start to feel hungry again!!

Catinka · 13/07/2022 21:10

@troppibambini6 ok!! I’ll see how I feel tomorrow!

drinkallthecoffee · 14/07/2022 12:03

I'm really flagging this week. Not eating as bad as before I started but not doing as well as the last few weeks either. I think my teeny loss deflated me too.

When I read the instructions I thought it said to keep the pens in the fridge or at room temperature, so I kept them in my room. I didn't realise that was only the open pen. So now I'm worried mine aren't working properly because they weren't kept cool.

I'm also wondering, what do you do if you run out of needles because we're doing it slower than we should be? I think I only have a weeks worth of needles left. I have a few more weeks left with the remaining pens so wasn't going to buy more until nearer the time, but I need more needles?!

Nowisthesummerofourdiscontent · 14/07/2022 13:19

Sorry to hear you're flagging. I can't help with the effectiveness or otherwise after storing unopened pens out of the fridge. I can tell you however that you can buy needles online separately. They are about £5 plus postage for 100.

Ok so no big weight loss (only 2lb in 10 days) but I feel like something is working - I managed to squeeze into some jeans that didn't fit last week Smile

figmaofmyimagination · 14/07/2022 21:31

I wonder if the fridge thing for unopened pens is just to slow their expiry- so if people buy 10 at a time or whatever?

takemetomars · 15/07/2022 06:45

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok.
I had to cut my dose down after a difficult weekend of feeling awful but am now heading back up again, last night was 1.2 plus 8 clicks and intending to get to 1.8 by Sunday, side effects permitting. I increased because I was losing the satiety effect and yesterday I ate 3 mini cakes and pasta in cheese sauce for dinner!
I might try alternating between 1.5 and 1.8 to keep costs down as much as possible.
I am really hoping that I will have lost more than this week's paltry 1lb on Monday. A stone in 5 weeks is my goal

Catinka · 15/07/2022 08:27

after feeling pretty much ok days 1 & 2 today (day 3) I feel horrible 😬. Is it normal for side effects to get worse? And please tell me it gets better!! I’m considering giving up 🥴

Don't give up!! I was lucky and had no side effects for the first few weeks then I had a week of agony with trapped wind and constipation. I wanted to give up but I got some meds, changed my injection site from stomach to leg and it seems to be fine again now. I'm 44 days in and 1 stone 8lbs down, I have moments where I get mad with myself for not losing faster but I know my habits are changing so I will have a chance of maintaining!

Let us know your first loss!!! X

I'm Following it as prescribed because I read if you complete a 3 month course at full dose as prescribed, when you stop taking it , the hormone in your body that's been lacking should of been kick started and you won't put the weight back on.

That's my real issue , is not reverting to my previous habits of over eating, so I want to make sure I do everything I can to try and make sure that doesn't happen

I'm day 8 and 2nd day on 1.2 and no side effects still and another lb off today that's 6 in 8 days . I'm really pleased but I do know a lot of it will be water rather than true weight loss.

I'm hoping one full 16 week course will be enough for me.

@Indoctro - can I ask where you read that?
Can you upload a screenshot or link?
I'm really interested as I'm worried when I come off my hunger will got back to 100% again and I'll be back to piling the weight on.
Thanks
