Raging with myself

I’ve been trying on dresses for an event in a months time and could t figure why nothing looked good, I have just stepped on the scales I have piled on a stone and a half 😭 I am short so makes a big difference. I haven’t been active as I have had health problems which are better now but I’ve had a sore foot since which I’m waiting to see physio for. I’m so mad at myself I knew I’d put a bit on but nowhere near that much! I struggle with weight loss I can cut back but for some reason it takes a good few weeks before I lose a pound but loads of exercise along with eating well has helped in the past. Can anyone recommend any form of exercises I can do that won’t cause problems with my foot? I am near a gym but not a pool I would normally walk/run but that is out of the question. Also can anyone recommend a good app for eating? I can’t get my head around slimming world and weight watchers with all their syns/points I’ve found calorie counting has been a bit easier in the past. Any advice would be much appreciated thank you

Have you tried searching for seated cardio on you tube? Possibly exercises on a bike or cross trainer or weights might be ok, but maybe give them a go and see how it feels.

My Fitness Pal is great for tracking calories, FitOn has a recipe section and lots of exercises as well.

Good luck, I have issues with my shoulder so I have to be careful of that. I’m seeing a private physio but it’s slow going. I am doing HIIT videos but swap anything like mountain climbers or burpee’s as they hurt badly

You could also do something similar with things like

glute bridges
plank
squats
punches
push ups
Clamshells
kettle bell swings

Just experiment and if it hurts swap it. I think for me, it has to be getting into the mindset of I can’t do that, but I can do this, rather than I can’t do it so I won’t do anything.

@Dashel thankyou that has helped a lot I just need to switch my mindset and look at different exercises the ones you have listed are very doable and I can use a cross trainer for my cardio.. I think I just need to calm down and accept these things happen I have been so inactive the past year and I need to get back to it again. I struggle to lose half a pound when just cutting down on food it starts eventually but think my body is sluggish however if I exercise lots as well as cut back it seems to get going.

Like you say it’s all in the mind.
