Today is a blip, a mere blip, a little blip, it didn't happen you are still on your diet and you are forgetting about thursday the 10th for eternity.

My diet tip is to pick up one of the glossy magazines and have a flick through. Looking at gorgeous clothes that need a better figure than mine to look good on usually stops me reaching for a Kit Kat.

Is your 1000 cals a day diet a quick fix or are you hoping to sustain it for long term weight loss? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you lose in the first week?

Hi Amandoh! Im 5 foot and weigh 10 stone so its a long haul - trying to get down to 8 1/2 - that would be a BMI of 22.2 which is smack bang in the middle of normal. I lost 4 pounds week 1 - seem to be back on the right track now - Chocolate is really not my problem - its the half bottle of white wine and bags of crisps that I chomp through each night that Im forgoing (sp?). How about you? Are you dieting? Got a plan? aiming for summer? I just want to be able to crawl about on the floor with the kids without leaving a welt where my belt is cutting into me!

Hi Padboz, 4lbs off is great! I find very low cal diets impossible to stick to for more than a few days so your willpower is to be applauded.

I'm 5'4" and 9st 5lbs which I know isn't very heavy but ideally I'd like to weigh 8st 9lbs. I tend to carry my weight on my thighs, hips bum and boobs so I hate how I look in jeans at the moment. I went to Weight Watchers last year for about 5 months and got down to 8st 9lbs and I was happy with that weight so I'm going to join again on Tuesday as I know it works for me. I do think that if I'd carried on going to the meetings I would not have gained these extra lbs I'm carrying now.

Have you tried Weight Watchers yourself? You'd still be able to have a glass of wine and some crisps . I lost 6lbs in the first week then a steady 1lb or 2lbs in the following weeks (Although some weeks I didn't lose anything but I didn't gain and was keeping off the weight I had lost so didn't mind).

Best of luck to you and keep us posted as to how you're getting on.
