Tips for controlling emotional eating

...i am a horror for reaching for sugary food when I'm stressed / pissed off.....even if Xmas is pleasant, we've got a lot on at our house - I'll probably look like a chocolate by new year if I carry on at the current rate of emotional eating

All ideas for other things to do instead of stuffing my face will be appreciated

Go for a walk
Brush your teeth after every meal so you've got that fresh feeling in your mouth that you don't want to spoil
Chew gum

Take up knitting or cross stitch!!!

Have a big argument with whoever happens to be nearby - worked for me when I gave up chocolate .

Don't allow yourself to eat anything unless you've written it down first. After a while not eating sweets will seem like a luxury because you don't have to haul yourself up off the sofa to find the list.

I always tended to be the opposie bran. When I had an argument with anyone I'd turn to food.

That's because you're trying to supress your anger/frustration by eating Woodpops, keep arguing until you've won and the other person will be tucking into the chocolate instead. I've always been more of a boredom eater, even now after so many weeks doing WW I still sometimes find myself wandering into the kitchen and opening the fridge during ad breaks.

I was always a bordum eater, a stress eater, any eater. You name it I'd eat it for any reason. Fingers crossed I'm on top of that one now!!!!
