Secret eating

I have a habit of secretly eating.

I have adhd (only diagnosed last week and I can’t go on meds at the moment due to previous mental health issues).

I live at home, even though I’m mid 20s.

I don’t want to secretly eat, but it’s like it gives me a dopamine hit to do this.

I do it mainly when I’m bored, but always when I’m not hungry. It’s like I need some sensory input too.

does anyone have any tips on how to overcome this? It’s the key to me losing weight. I know just don’t do it, is going to be key but it’s not quite hat easy, if it was I would have bloody well stopped by now.

Stop buying the food that you are secretly eating, just buy healthy snacks.

That doesn’t work, I would just go and buy it anyway. I don’tdo this much maybe once or twice a month but still,

i can’t eat most healthy snacks due to sensory issues,

I don't have the answer but just wanted to offer solidarity! I am diagnosed with ASD but suspect I also have ADHD and I'm exactly the same.

Tackle the root issues, food won’t fix long term, my great comfort is cat, had her for nearly 11 years, nearly 13 soothes, comforts and fab.
