3.5 stone to lose

Weighed myself this morning and I'm 14.2 stone. So disgusted with myself. I'm obese. All my clothes are tight. I'm so ashamed. Started 5:2 today. Joined the gym last week and have a spin class for tomorrow.

Will do my fast days on Wednesdays and Fridays and try to get to the gym 3-4 times a week. Aiming for 1-2lb loss each week.

Anyone want to join me from today?

Week 0
Starting weight: 14.2 stone
Goal: 11 stone
Left to lose: 3.2 stone

How did the spin class go?

I tried fasting and I’m pretty useless at it, but I wanted to wish you well and let you know that you aren’t on your own. Keep posting as it gives you some accountability and support.

I find that being organised and setting my intentions for tomorrow really helps and plenty of sleep. Tiredness equals no will power whatsoever.

Yes, I'll join.

3.5 stone to lose.
Aiming for 2lb loss each week. Would love more, would hate less.

Starting by removing all low willpower foods from the house! Certain things I have no self control with, like Swiss milk chocolate, cheesy biscuits or tiramisu.

Thank you @Dashel. The spin was AWFUL. I did one years ago and absolutely hated it. I guess I thought a different teacher so maybe should give it a go but I was honestly so awful! I kept pedalling the whole time but I couldn't even get close to the RPM he kept shouting out. Glad I went as I nearly didn't as it was still 30 mins of moving I wouldn't have had otherwise. Another fast day tomorrow then will book so classes for the weekend.

Hi @knifer 😊 happy to have someone to do this with. Yes, agreed I also need to get the low will power food out.
Tbh we don't keep things like chocate and biscuits in usually but it's all the kids easter chocolate that's been causing me issues and I feel so bad throwing it out. They're only little so wouldn't notice really.

i don’t know if you have the space but if you want to get into spinning, have you considered getting your own bike and a Les Mills subscription? You can pick up a second hand bike to keep the cost down and the app gives you access to all their classes. The instructors are amazing and motivating as well.

I think you need to remember that you won’t be up to the same levels as fitter or more experienced people straight away. Les Mills usually say just do the first three or four tracks and build up.

I'm really not keen in spinning. In the past Hiit and running has been good so I think I'll try and do these things.

Weighed myself today:

Week 1
Starting weight: 14.2
Goal: 11.4 stone
Current weight: 13.13
Loss: 0.2lbs
Left to lose: 2.8 stone

Disappointing. I'd weighed through the week and jad lost 2lbs so must have over done it in the last few days.

I'm fasting today and Friday. Cycled my girls to nursery today and might try a run on Thurs and at the weekend.

How are you getting on @knifer?

I think I need to post more often here to keep me accountable in between my fast days.

I've just been reading some weight loss threads and I've been swayed to try low carb rather than 5:2.!

I've paid for a years subscription to FitOn. Much less pressure and much less hassle than going to the gym! It's £30 at the moment instead of almost £100 but there are loads of free workouts on it as well. I just wanted to follow some of the workout plans and you need to pay then.

Also find James Smith on Facebook or Instagram. He's a personal trainer, he gives loads of no nonsense advice for free in his videos.

I bought a cheap Fitbit type watch, I've been trying to hit 12,000 steps a day and I'm trying to drink more when I feel peckish. So far so good but it's early days!
