No, but a friend mentioned it to me the other day-seriously considering it.. came here to look for any experiences in it people have had!

I'm doing lighter life same sort of bars and shakes diet. I've lost about two stone over two months. It can be tough and you totally need to be in the zone for it. It works the difficult thing is maintaining and not going back to old eating habits once you are at target weight x

SlapOfReality · 22/04/2022 23:28

Started this the other day (worst week to begin the diet to be fair - not sure what i was thinking - broken it twice already and will do again at a wedding next week!

But!

I am finding it manageable so far, and I love the boundaries... I don't need to think about food/weighing it/getting seduced by cheesy pasta...as it isn't an option!

Peachy7 · 22/04/2022 23:36

It works amazingly, you have to be 100% on it because of the way it works, especially doing steps 1 or 2. BUT you MUST work back up through the steps or you will not maintain it. I lost 3 stone pre lockdown on it, lockdown hit and I've gained it all back.

ThatsGoingToHurt · 29/04/2022 06:25

Me! I’m doing the Cambridge diet! I lost 8lbs in my first week and I’m now into my second week. I need to lose the baby weight and the corona kilos!

LucyPoppy · 03/05/2022 21:50

I've just had my week 2 weigh-in. Lost 7.5lb in that fortnight. Slightly disappointed tonight as I was so disciplined last week and "only" lost 2.5lb. Now I've got over it and realised it is a good loss. I am having tests for PCOS and I tend to gain a few pounds mid-month so I should be thrilled.
How is everyone else doing? I'm going to bed very early to try to resist evening snacking.

ThatsGoingToHurt · 04/05/2022 07:15

I went away for the weekend and did Step 2 for the weekend so I could at least have and evening meal. I got back and I had lost another 2lbs. I’m not due to be weighed until Monday and I have just finished my period so I’m hoping I can lose some more before then

Hippywannabe · 04/05/2022 07:26

I am doing a similar plan called The New You Plan, it is similar but cheaper. I started September 14th at 18 stones 3 and by mid February was down to 12 stones 9lbs.
We have a thread on here.
I cannot explain the difference it has made to my life. Happy to talk if you want to dm.

Magissa · 04/05/2022 07:33

I did it about ten years ago. It really changed the way I thought about food. It is great to not have to think about food just what flavour soup or shake to have. I lost a stone a month. I seemed to lose big amounts every other week and smaller amounts in between. Weird but it worked. I would do it again but you definitely can't go in half heartedly. Drink plenty of water!

ZombiePara · 04/05/2022 12:37

Decided to take the plunge and do it!

Picked completely the wrong time to start as I had bookings and commitments I couldn't change... however despite having days off it, in 2 weeks, I have lost 10lbs, and feel so much more confident in myself that sticking to it 100% will give me results!

(2 weddings, birthday celebration, bank holiday dinner out, and a London day trip.. and still made a loss each week!)

ZombiePara · 04/05/2022 12:38

Definitely find that only having to pick a product/flavour is helping...

It is the structure I need at the moment!

ThatsGoingToHurt · 04/05/2022 13:25

@Hippywannabe wow that’s amazing!

LucyPoppy · 04/05/2022 17:48

@Hippywannabe Wow! That's the sort of inspiration I need. I got about a stone from my goal weight a few years ago. I had spinal surgery for a slipped disc and it all piled back on before I managed to reach and maintain it. I am so determined this time.
I'd love to hear everyone's progress.

Hippywannabe · 04/05/2022 22:40

I just posted on the New You Plan thread if anyone wants some inspiration x

carbibarbie · 05/07/2022 19:14

Hi everyone, thanks for all this great motivation! I'm on day 3 and dyinggggg! Is it true that I will eventually feel not hungry and not faint and just super energised and not starved?!

Haylz101 · 14/08/2022 20:25

Hi Everyone,

Ive just started this Cambridge diet, I’m day 6. Weighing tomorrow excited and nervous, anyone else out there just starting.

I have 5 stone to shift after having 2 children and eating what I wanted and got stuck in a cycle.

LucyPoppy · 14/08/2022 21:49

Good luck! I lost almost 2 stone from April to July. I'm trying to maintain over the summer holiday and will get back to it in September for the final 2 stone I have to lose. My target to lose that last weight is Christmas.
I have done a higher step with more calories recently. It has been slower but more achievable for me during a stressful time. I may go for a lower, more hardcore step in September to speed things up a bit as I think I will be able to manage it.
My main advice is to get straight back to it if you have a wobble. Don't wait for the next day (or in my case, the following Monday! 😆) xxxx

Haylz101 · 15/08/2022 06:05

Thanks, well done to you and good luck for your journey ahead. I am doing step 2 so I’ve been having a meal evening which has made it all easier, so far. I think I’m going to do only 3 products from today as she said I could do either step and hopefully a better result next week.

My weigh in is today, I’ve weighed at home 3lb off but its my time of month this week so this usually affects weight loss for me.

Henrysmycat · 30/08/2022 12:34

A little bit different comment but I’m doing the diet right now, perimenopause blah blah… I had done once, years ago to drop baby weight.
Anyway, I meet the local consultant and she’s horrid. The first consultant years ago was a professional counsellor and she offered great help and handhold. She was lovely all around and I enjoyed my 3 months on the diet and upkeep, immensely.
My current one only wants to sell you and get you out the door asap (5 mins on prearrange meetings twice so far with the exception of first meeting), she’s not asking about how I am doing, not even using scales as “she trusts me to tell her the truth of my scales” but my biggest annoyance is she’s one of those “I’m not racists but…..”

She has some horrible views; and on the first meeting, didn’t mind telling me that “all crimes are done by XXX European country people”, how she doesn’t get on the buses in London because it’s full of XXX race people and they smell” etc. She tells me and I’m not even English myself with a very obvious foreigner name and look.
I asked CWP to chance consultant but they haven’t come back to me. Can I do it? I simply cannot justify giving my money to her.
Also, shall I complain? Can I do it anonymously without being found out? She’s lives in the neighbourhood but I didn’t know of her as she “doesn’t mingle with the local people as they are too suburban”. We live in a very expensive area but she’s a transplant of central London and she thinks of herself higher I guess.
I have no idea what to do?

Haylz101 · 30/08/2022 16:09

Just wow, I wouldn’t be putting money in her pocket for obvious reason she’s no use to anyone dieting !!! Never mind the racism, I’d probably report as it very unprofessional and disgusting I wouldn’t care about it being anonymous she’s probably done it to loads more people.

search around for a new one, I hope you find one!

KurriKawari · 12/11/2022 21:16

Hi, am thinking of starting Cambridge but not sure I'll be able to afford it. How much it usually for a week?

Hippywannabe · 13/11/2022 17:36

@KurriKawari try the New You Plan instead. I lost loads quickly on it. We do have a thread on here. It worked out to be much cheaper than Cambridge and Lighterlife.

Scott101 · 16/03/2023 16:10

My mother tried this, it wasn't good! the rep tried to demoniz food! Food isn't the enemy! The rep told her no fruit cause it has sugar! This is ridiculous. It's all about calories in V calories out. Work out your BMR and eat in a calorie deficit of 500 cals. Also it seems like a lot of the reps are past clients, which in a way is a pyramid scheme. Please ladies, don't think losing weight (for good) is a quick thing. You need to learn about food, your emotional connection with food, the good and bad choices you make with food and why you make those choices. Bodysmartfitness on insta is a brilliant guy who, teaches fact on food and exercise.

viksta123 · 22/08/2024 09:39

Hi I’m starting Cambridge 1.1 today is anyone else doing it so we can keep each other going or does anyone have any positive experiences to share 😃
