Lardy Ladies 7 January 2008

Here it is, I'm weighing in at 9 stone 8 with another half stone or so to go. I haven't been under nine stone (and therefore able to get into most of my wardrobe) in ten years and this year I am determined to do it. Not that I really want to wear all those clothes any more I suppose, they looked better on someone younger, but I want to be back at what still seems to me the proper size AND SHAPE, which is the difficult bit. The Lardy Ladies are responsible for my not only getting rid of half a stone (for which many thanks) but mostly keeping it off too.

Thank you HB - and a hapy new year to you too!

Right popped on the scales good news = 2lbs less than last week bad news = I'm still extra lardy and at least 9lb more than when I was more diety in the summer!

Furball, the good news - and it really is good, well done! - is that you weigh two pounds less than you did last week - and there isn't any bad news. What you weighed last summer doesn't matter, except that it's handy to know you can do it. It's good to have a goal of some kind, but if you consistently weigh less, or at least no more, than you did the previous week, then you're on the right lines.

And what chance do the two tins of Celebrations have of making it until Easter, hmm? None in my household, that'd be for sure.... Give them away now!

Well done Heavybee. And good luck with the next weight loss. And thanks for good luck wishes.
Furball well done for being 2lb less than last week.

I am 12st 3 and 3/4 this week. But i am starting jogging 3 times a week thanks to a thread on MN. couch potato to 5k its called! I have done the 1st two sessions now. And am pleased i have. Will probably need encouragment to keep going but i really want to do it this year!

WE CAN ALL DO IT THIS YEAR.

Furball · 08/01/2008 14:33

oh tortoise I'm doing the jogging thing as well - I've bought an mp3 player to download the podcast thingy. It turned up today so will propbably venture out tomorrow [yikes]

tortoise · 08/01/2008 14:40

I don't have an mp3/ipod although my new phone which i should get this week has mp3 on it.
im not sure how the pod thingy works yet. I had a look and got a bit confussed. lol!
Good luck with it. My friend said today she would be interested in giving it a try. Have a feeling she won't though!

Furball · 08/01/2008 14:45

it's good, it tells you when to start/stop running etc so you don't need a stopwatch. I bought my MP3 player from amazon for £20 it's a Zen Stone, if you're interested, you can get cheaper ones but this one had a good write up and still cheap.

Furball · 10/01/2008 06:57

did my run yesterday - managed it and wasn't to out of puff, the minute running went quite quick.

Then ruined it all by going round a friends house ands eating half my bodyweight in crisps!

have a course today with a buffet and an indian meal out tonight. HHHHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!

HeavyBee · 10/01/2008 11:09

Well done with the jogging, Tortoise, I'm very impressed. I can cycle to work ok but I'm no runner. Good luck, Furball with the day's foody temptations. Try to eat fairly slowly at both, giving yourself time to enjoy each thing you eat before rushing on to the next. I think I put on weight when I bolt my food, because I eat more before I feel full. Don't know if that might help...
