Alright

38 years old, 5ft 8, just been told at the doctors I weigh 99 kg. Part of me has died inside at these words. Ideal weight 73kg, aiming for 80, but preferably want to be 10 down at least by June.

I can't eat wheat or barley.
I loathe celery and raw fish

I can walk and will.

Best tips, please.

My Fitness Pal.
It’s helped me lose over 3 stone.
Your tdee -amount of calories to stay exactly as you are-is 2260. You need to reduce your calories to lose weight. Diet really is the key to weight loss not exercise. If you reduce down to around 1,600 initially then you shouldn’t feel too restricted. The key is to fill up on things that are lower in calories so you feel full and don’t miss the empty calorie treats. My Fitness Pal helps you make better choices -although don’t input your exercise as it gives you calories to eat back, so stalling weight loss.

Have a look at the NHS BMI calculator. PP is correct, 1600 cals a day will see a 1 or 2lb loss a week.

In my experience 7lb a month loss is realistic. Slow and steady wins the race. Join one of the threads on here
