I’ve lost 2 stone- now what do I do?

So I have managed to loose two stone (actually just over) since September. I genuinely never though it was possible as I’ve been trying to shift at least one of them for about the last 7 years. Somehow, through exercise and keeping and eye on what I eat I have now reached my pre wedding weight. I’m obviously pleased with what I’ve accomplished and try to tell myself to be happy with it, which I am.

Two things though:

  1. How do I maintain this?
  2. Why don’t l feel like I’m slim? Don’t get me wrong, in one way absolutely do but in another I can’t really ‘see’ a huuuuge difference. I think it is becasue it has taken almost 7 months. I keep thinking if I loose another few pounds I might just be a little slimmer… Basically, how do I know when to stop?!

I’m at a healthy BMI now and was just over the line for overweight when I started.

Ooh good to read. I am looking forward to getting to the maintain stage.

Exciting! Have you got long left @MistySkiesAfterRain? For me it feels odd to be at maintain and stop the feeling of having to loose a little bit more. I am finally starting to really feel I am much slimmer now. Buying new clothes helped!

Four months to go. Which feels forever! 10lb loss so far and it feels like lots and nothing! I think the new clothes is the thing...can't wait!

This time round it is different as it has never been so hard to lose weight- like no way will I be letting it back on again!

A little update in the unlikely event someone has a look at this thread and might need some encouraging about the maintenance stage.

So, I have now maintained for ca 5 months. I’ve relaxed my eating quite a bit and not really counting calories any longer. Having said this I am trying to keep to a sensible breakfast and take care not to snack away on unhealthy options. I’m keeping the 80% rule very much as a guide. I’m also keeping up with my exercise which I now love.

And, I do feel I look ‘slim’ now. I think it took my brain some catching up. Buying lots of new clothes helped too.

Good luck to everyone else working towards their goal or at the maintenance stage!
