How to lose your appetite

Please someone help!

Has anyone got any tips on how to eat less. I literally think from one meal to the next and snack constantly between meals. I start each day with amazing intentions and then by lunchtime it's all out of the window.
Food is such a focal point of my day, I have a little something whenever I'm feeling happy, sad, frustrated, angry, excited whatever the mood my first port of call is "something nice to eat"

So all you people who have lost weight successfully, how did you reduce the urge to eat..

Thanks in advance 😊

Have you tried speaking to your GP?

If the focus on food is mental health related or linked to emotions they might be able to help with that and offer advice?

I think having something else to think about would be step number one. Do you have a job? If so do you enjoy it?

low carbing/keto - after a few days my appetite dropped off a cliff

Ekerty72 · 27/02/2022 16:06

I agree with @ChaoticWoman in that its emotional eating but it didn't click until recently that it's all emotions not just the negative ones :-(

Yeah I like my job but even that I'm opposite a sainsburys so I go there and get snacks, or someone will bring cake in etc.

Need to keep really occupied...

I have a week off and I'm determined to try to control it...

I have heard brilliant things about low carb!

When you feel like a snack, have some water instead? Sometimes we’re thirsty rather than hungry, and a drink can take the edge off. It’s hard to curb the snacking habit so good luck OP Smile

What's your relationship status? I was ghosted in December and it really kick started my weight loss

Bamaluz · 27/02/2022 16:28

I drink tea, or fruit tea, sometimes Bovril or an Options hot chocolate.
Fruit or a light Babybel if I have to have something.

ChocAuVin · 27/02/2022 16:35

Yep. Low carb or ideally keto will reduce your appetite—try it; you’ll be amazed

SingaporeSlinky · 27/02/2022 17:33

I agree, keto. After 3 or 4 days I lost my appetite, and it made it so much easier. I just have 2 meals most days now and I’m not hungry before lunch time. But I find the more I eat, the more hungry I get, which makes no sense at all. We had guests staying recently, and between takeaways, picnics, and snacks they brought with them, I ended up eating 3 meals, plus chocolates. The next morning my stomach was rumbling loudly! So I had to eat breakfast.
