10 weeks to lose as much as possible...

Hi Everyone

Despite claiming I would finally lose weight in 2022 I have continued to gain and lose the same few pounds and am no lighter than I was at the start of the year. I have alot to lose and really struggle with motivation. Usually having a specific day as a goal has the opposite effect for me, rather than motivating me I end up convinced I will not be able to lose enough to feel/look much better by then, feel really down, make excuses and don't go.

However - I have now been invited to a wedding, I didn't expect to be invited (it is limited numbers) and really want to go but I am so embarrassed by how big I am, have nothing to wear and the others who are going are gorgeous and always look great. I would love to lose enough weight to really make a difference - I have 10 weeks, what can I achieve? Has anyone else lost a decent amount in that time? How did you do it? Any tips welcome!

xx

Do a VLCD like Exante.

If you have an iron will and don't cheat at all you can loose 2.5 stone (it's usually a stone a month) depending on your weight.

In my experience, if I have tried to slim down for an event, I have done so but gained even more afterwards.

This is unlikely what you want to hear but eating plenty of colour and fitting fun and doable exercise into your day will help so much in the long run without depriving yourself. You have been invited because someone wants to share their special day with you. They like you for you and nothing else.

Go shopping for a new outfit in a couple of weeks time which makes you feel great! I am sure you will look fabulous 😊

I have managed to lose over a stone in that time before, and am currently 10lbs down, in 7 weeks. What’s your starting weight? It is a hard slog, so you have to be committed and prepared to make big changes.

Sorry for disappearing, had a crazy week! Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it! I have thought about Exante or something similar...really worried that my willpower is usually rubbish even though I am desperate to lose weight. Not sure why but I struggle to stay motivated.

What did you decide @Gemi33?
It’s a week in already, so I hope you’re seeing more progress.
