Has anyone signed up to the Chloe Madely online coaching thing? Its £22.50/week which seems a lot! Would anyone who is doing it be able to say if they think its working for them?

I'd love to hear about this too. Contemplating starting May 1. Heard about them through Emma Guns' podcast.

I signed up to this after Christmas and personally wouldn't again as it is not individually tailored at all . Everyone is given the same calorie target depending on if you are over or under a certain weight. Everyone is provided with the same gym or home workouts and these are only chnaged once in the eight weeks. There was no individual check in with the coaches and instead you use a facebook group to ask any questions. Its seemed very expensive for essentially a facebook group. I was very disappointed as both coaches seem great and very experienced but I just couldn't see what I was paying for with this?

(I actually found this thread as I was googling to find a link to a pull-up bar that Emma recommended on her own website - I'm an existing EC Method joinee)

I've been doing it since July, with a few months off here and there. I've lost 3 stone but have changed body composition massively and so actually look like I've lost more weight.

You get a starting calorie target depending on your current weight bracket and then start getting data to see if that's working for you or not (takes 3 weeks of consistency to see true fat loss). The workouts are great - there are 4 gym workouts, and multiple home weight, home bodyweight and home banded workouts, and then new sets of workouts after 4 weeks.

There's a live Facebook Q&A twice a week where you can ask questions, and they're massively responsive on the group, they reply within a day (often within an hour) and will give any coaching you need on the group if you start a thread.

I think you definitely get out what you put in. I love it and I really feel like it's a change for life for me.

I also lost 4 stone on ECM. You need to really commit to changing your outlook on life in relation to food, movement and exercise. You don’t get personalised workouts or advice, but you need to ask if you need help if support. The gym workouts are fantastic and have given me a lot of definition. However, you won’t see material results in one round, so you need to be prepared to commit to several rounds. It is more of a lifestyle change. There are lots of resources you can use to inform your choices. Also, it is so dependant on the effort you put in, I’ve been struggling in the past few rounds and have lost nothing, which is down to me. The coaches are great, knowledgeable and hilarious.

I usually don’t post but I’m such an EC Method believer, I had to input. I did 3 rounds last year (lost 1.5 stone) and am doing this round (lost 5kg this one round… 66kg to 61kg) and built muscle.

It is incredible, I’m 51 and stronger with more definition than I had in my 20s when I would spend hours in the gym. I used to be a yo-yo dieter and it’s changed my mindset re food now and do not do that anymore. There’s more and more evidence on the benefits of weight training for women (especially of a certain age) and, apart from the physique gains, I know I’m doing really great things for my general health. The workouts are great, there is no need to have ‘personalised’ workouts unless you have issues in which case Chloe and Emma will help.

I lost 1.5 stone in a healthy, mind-healthy way and nothing has ever worked for me before. As the above post has suggested, you get what you put in but, at the end of the day, if you stick to the ‘non negotiables’, it’ll work. In response to the comment above from the lady who was disappointed in the workouts not been changed… there is a huge amount to choose from depending on your circumstance however, again, evidence shows that changing workouts is sub optimal. At the end of the day, you need to be working the same muscles and if a squat is the best way to do that then a squat it is!

anyway, best thing I ever did for me. I’m not doing this round but I know enough to do on my own for this round. So, yeah. Do it! But listen to the podcasts and actually do the work and you will get results
:)

I've been with Chloe and Emma on the
EC Method for over a year, although I've dipped in and out during that time. I'm 51 and feeling stronger and fitter than I have in years and no more endless cardio!
The group support is amazing and it's a very friendly helpful group. Emma and Chloe are the best coaches, you only have to tag them and they reply with help and guidance.
Its changed my attitude to eating after years of faddy diets.
If you're prepared to put the work in then sign up, you won't regret it!

I did 5 rounds with ECM and it has been completely life changing. I gained so much knowledge with nutrition and training. Before joining I’d spent years yo yo dieting, I never felt happy with the way I looked and I wasn’t healthy mentally when it came to food. It not only changed my body composition, but my relationship with food, and I’m now finally happy and healthy. Emma and Chloe are amazing coaches and are so knowledgeable. I highly recommend ECM to anyone thinking of taking the plunge and joining.

BasinHaircut · 18/03/2023 12:08

I’d recommend 100%.

As others have said above it really is the case that you get out what you put in. ‘It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change’ really does sum their approach up and it’s very effective.

Emma and Chloe are excellent, evidence based, compassionate coaches and no, the starting point is not personalised, but the idea is that they are educating and coaching you towards the optimum diet and training FOR YOU.

Coaches that sell you anything personalised are probably just taking you for a ride TBH. You can use any online calculator to come up with a more specific calorie target based on your weight, height and activity level, but the point is that you don’t know whether that works for you until you try it as everybody is different and an algorithm could never know that. So we try, we watch, we learn, we adjust.

with regards to workouts, you will get the best results by not changing them at all. I’ve been doing the same workout routine for 6 months and I am in the best shape of my life.

I have done 3 rounds of the EC, haven’t done one for about a year, but I still listen in to their podcasts and interact with the the girls and the wider EC community which is amazing.

mumsyme2 · 27/06/2023 10:03

The girls are really knowledgeable, I like the podcast, and that they respond quickly to questions in the group but as it’s not personalised, the program didn’t work for me. I’m also tech ignorant, so I couldn’t seem to figure out how to get organized as they use different platforms for information - so I really relied on other users to help answer my questions - which was so valuable (women sharing tips and strategies!) The focus is heavier on weight training in the gym (which I can’t afford time and money wise). The women who committed to the excercise had great results - especially the ones who had a lot to lose! It was a great community of beautiful people. I think I just needed to change my diet and build some muscle first before I could get to heavy training. After 6 weeks, I changed to a nutritionist who just focused me on a personalised diet, and incorporated a bit of cardio in the mornings and at home resistance workouts which have given me the results I wanted. Having said that, I would definitely go back to EC now that my diet is better. Once I feel Im built up to do more on the excercise I know they’re training approach would get me that ultimate fitness body of my dreams!
