I'm almost 6 months PP and had a big baby. I was naturally slim before pregnancy and always had been. I don't mind being bigger after having a baby, but this little lower belly that I've got just looks absolutely awful on me!
I challenged myself to get back to the weight I was just before pregnancy by the time I go back to work in the summer. So set a goal of 11lb to lose. I've been doing weight watchers for the last 6 weeks and have lost 8lbs so far. Obviously I'm really pleased with that and wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly!! But the weight seems to have come off my upper body, shoulders and around my rib cage. In isolation they look quite good but then my lower stomach 😞
Does anyone know how I can target this area? Exercise or diet?! Do I need to keep losing weight beyond the 11lbs?
I'm 5ft 8 and was aiming to get back down to 11stone, but nhs says I'm healthy weight but more towards the top end!
I guess what I'm saying is i don't want to keep trying to lose weight if I'm going to be stuck with my little tummy. Like I say I'm happy to be bigger all round (and healthy) but would just like the flat tummy back if it's possible!
I've just read it back and I feel like I'm asking the impossible... but it's worth a shot 😊
Thanks in advance!!

I really like the Every Mother app, you have to pay but it's 10 minutes of core exercise every day plus other workouts and it really helped to flatten my stomach. Might be worth looking into?

PS well done on your weight loss! And since having kids my weight sits on my stomach which it never did before.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I've just downloaded the app, I'll have a look and give it a go 😊

I’m 5ft 9. I looked like Buddha at the top end of bmi. I am a typical apple shape but, like pp, weight sat a lot more on my tummy after having a baby.

I only lost my tum when I got down to the lower end of my BMI range. Your baby is so small and it’s such early days. Your body won’t have finished totally recovering from the huge changes it went through just yet.

Congratulations on your new baby.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. You're right, I'm probably putting too much pressure on myself!
