Feeling down about saxanda

I'm 60 in April and a sole carer for my daughter who's wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy. During lockdown I've gained some weight and I must be about 15-16 stone. I do cook good meals but tend to get snack craving at night ( I suffer with insomnia). Next august I'm hoping to go away to USA and wanted to lose weight. Walking fair distance is hard as DD gets cold easily, the gym and a swim not an option as DD can't access. I wanted to start on sax but went to Lloyds pharmacy today and because I'm on levathyroxin (sp) 75mg daily for under active thyroid the pharmacist said I can't take sax 😢😢 the Gp won't prescribe as I'm not diabetic and put me on oristat which I had to stop because it really effected my IBS. I really don't know what to do. Sorry for long post.

Ah that’s annoying - it was recommended to me and I’m also on thyroxine. Have you had your thyroid checked recently? That could be making your weight issues worse.

My bloods were done about 10 weeks ago after a visit to the Gp for tiredness and feeling lethargic, she weighed me and said I'm exactly the same weight as 2 years ago which she thought was odd that's when the under active thyroid showed up.

Sounds like it's the snacks that need to go. Do they tend to be sweet or savoury? Can you substitute with something else?
How about exercise from youtube?
