Overwhelmed

I need to lose 2 stone. I am 43 and have never been particularly fit in my life, thin yes but never had any decent fitness.

I have been on various diets for years and am steadily gaining weight. I self sabotage so much that I don’t think I have a healthy attitude to food.

I am a classic yo-yo dieter that throws money to fads and clubs but never sticks to them.

I don’t even know where to start as I’m so overwhelmed with all the different diets, I know calorie deficient is the only thing that works but can’t for the life of me stick to it.

Has anyone else felt like this and broke the cycle?

Im feeling exactly the same right now. I have also spent many years yo yo dieting. In the last year I have subscribed to Noom, WW and Second Nature (twice). I start out ok but I seem to lack the motivation. I need to lose two stone. Really don't know what to suggest. Im hoping that starting a new job (not working from home) next week will help. Once I get into the routine I will start walking 45 mins each way. Maybe ditch the diet and just exercise more?

16:8 might work for you.

Once the kitchen's closed it’s closed until my 8 hour eating window begins. I’ve started doing 18:6.

Eat lots of green vegetables with a lean protein, drink water, eat enough fibre, choose low calorie soup, beware of hidden calories in things like salad dressings and drinks (alcoholic & non).

Use a calorie tracking app like nutracheck or my fitness pal.

Thanks @Magissa think I will bin the dieting for a bit, not like it’s working Blush and focus on moving and see how that works

@MyCatStaresAtMe I think intermitting fasting is probably the only thing I haven’t tried. It’s madness as my core diet is fantastic, it’s all the rubbish I top it up with that jinxes me and you are right I don’t notice the calories in dressings etc
