Wedding dress doesn't fit

So today I've been to try on my wedding dress and it doesn't fit.

All my weight is around my stomach (size 16) and to be honest I probably should of done something about this way before now.

Wedding is at the end of April, and dress is going to be altered so I'm not all that worried, it is what it is at the end of the day, and it's my own fault.

Am I being crazy to think that if I do 10,000 steps a day, drink 2 litres of water and eat in moderation - although I won't lose much weight, I might tone up a bit?

I’m ‘all belly” too. And the low sugar/ reduced carbs diet definately works on that problem area.

Maybe cut down on starchy carbs if you eat a lot of those (pasta, bread, sugary things etc). It will help lose belly weight and any bloat.

@SportsMother

How many steps are you doing at the moment? I would add “cut out alcohol”
I'm not sure to be honest, as I don't currently track them. But I'm in an office sitting down all day, so I'm guessing it's not all that many.

Up, this is what I eat. What alternatives could I use?

It’s quite a mind shift at first as all my meals used to be based round starchy carbs. In the first instance maybe just try to cut out or reduce sugar. So no cakes, pastries, puddings, sweets etc. If you eat a lot of these, even cutting down will make a massive difference. You have nearly 3 months so that’s easily enough time to lose 7- 10 lbs without being too drastic. As a bonus, reducing (not eliminating) carbs and drinking more water improved my skin and gave me more energy.

If you’re in a sedentary job it’s unlikely you are getting in 10k steps so moving more will make a difference to how you feel!

And congratulations on your wedding!
