I'm looking at Huel for weight loss purposes. Im struggling at the moment to fit a health diet into my life, and feeling extremely sluggish and unhealthy.

Huel seems a good option, without losing out on nutrients etc.

Has anyone tried this? any success stories in regards to weight loss?

Thanks!

I think it's meant for people who do a lot of sport. I don't think it's just a replacement food, is it? I listen to the Stephen Bartlett podcasts and he invests in Huel. He always talks about it being used for weight training and so on.

It can have 'interesting' effects on your bowelsBlush

It does mention on its website it can be used a meal replacement. Due to the vitamins and nutrients it has.

I do a mix of weight training and cardio, 3-4 times a week. Have had times used protein shakes after workouts.

But would be keen to hear from ppl who have used it as meal replacements. From the website Breakfast and lunch shakes seem
To be popular, and then a normal meal in the evening. Which would be quite handy to fit into my lifestyle at the moment.

I had sort of assumed this!!

It took me awhile to get used to protein shakes when I was taking them, so I'm assuming this may be the same.

I'd hope it would calm down a bit..... eventually Blush

I've just ordered some for this very thing! I'm trying to be plant based and calorie controlled with my eating for weight loss. The way I see it, whilst in an ideal world we would get all the nutrients from a wholefood source, the reality is I will not be able to be as nutritionally balanced without some EXTREME effort.
I'll eat a balanced dinner in the evening and use the shakes in the day!

This is exactly what I'm thinking too.

I'm trying to cut down on meat, and really struggling with meals as I'm so used to using chicken etc. so this should be a good way of helping!

The reviews online seem really good, and they do a good job of selling it online so I'm looking forward to trying it!

Reviews online do look good, but I'm always a little wary and was worried it could turn out to be a Herbalife type thing. Genuinely doesn't seem to be, and asking around my more fitness focussed friends - none of them had a bad word to say and seemed to think it's nutritionally 'sound'. I'm hoping it also helps with hairloss after reading about another poster who said that as a side effect of taking protein they had hair growth.
First order is on the way, really looking forward to trying it! If you want a referral code I can DM
you one for £10 off, but I think you're prob likely to get that anyway on an intro offer

JammyRascal · 06/02/2022 20:31

@gingerbreadtea thank you, yes the intro deal is the same!

I get nervous it sounds too good to be true. But the more I read about, the more I think it sounds perfect for me!

I have huel as a meal replacement when i cba cooking or thinking about food. It seems quite a good list of ingredients to me. I like the flavours and its convenient. I dont find it as filling as food though.

OverTheHandlebars · 06/02/2022 20:38

I used huel to replace breakfast and lunches and as an easy way to count calories and lost 20kg. I've kept that weight off for nearly a year now, and still use huel sometimes when I can't be bothered to prepare something healthy. Would definitely recommend it.

Oh wow, well done on your weight loss! That's great it's stayed off too. How long did you take it for to lose that amount, if you don't mind me asking?

I tried it but really didn't like the taste of artificial sweetener. So it'll depend on how you tolerate that taste.

I do love their hot and savoury range though!

@DameCelia indeed it does (from a wife of a heul-er).
