Has anyone had a gastric band removed and in particular on the nhs?
I desperately need mine out but it is so expensive.
Any advice would be appreciated.

When was your last fill? I have not had mine filled in 5 years and it's almost like I don't have it any more unless I eat lots of stodgy food very quickly.

Could you have it loosened rather than removed (about £250 privately when I looked)

Are you experiencing issues with it?

It is completely empty now as I couldnt get on with it at all. It causes me extreme pain most days. I dont know if its moved or something, but its agony.

Oh no, sorry to hear that.

If you're in pain with it most days, there's a chance it has "slipped" this can happen following illness like vomiting or sometimes just randomly.

If you haven't been to see your GP yet, it's worth visiting. I'm unsure on their policy regarding removal, but they can't leave you in pain surely.

Best of luck, I hope you manage to get a resolution and some relief.
