TMI Question about anyone using Saxenda

ItsDisneyBitch · 23/01/2022 08:14

I have been using saxenda for 3 days now.

* definitely TMI warning *

I was just driving home from work, when I suddenly got the most horrific stomach cramp and broke out in a cold sweat. I knew then I wasn’t going to make it home to the toilet. I basically had the worst diarrhoea.

God it was horrendous. Has anyone else had this type of reaction I’ve only been on sax three days.

Thank god I was in the car and not out in public.

From a very scrubbed clean, embarrassed user.

No personal experience but it'd definitely something I've heard about. Sounds awful, poor you Sad

EmmaH2022 · 23/01/2022 10:50

Oh my god how weird
I was about to start a thread about Saxenda

I didn't have this but tried it last year

About a week in, I woke up in a cold sweat and - apologies - was sick. Just once, but it put me off completely.

I deliberately took it at night in case something like this happened.

Now i'm thinking to try again but only if these side effects pass.

I really feel for you OP Flowers

I am desperate, which is the reason I'm considering trying again. Maybe every other day would help and have no side effects.

I have taken Imodium this morning but I still don’t feel ok. Have not injected myself today.

Am a bit shaky but I can’t possibly have anything left in my stomach am getting a griping pain every now and then. Now I have to get in the car to take dd to work! Wish I didn’t have too. Am taking supplies with me just in case!!

OP I wouldn't take it for a couple of days at least.

I might post in the main thread. I hope you feel better asap.

For the first week or so I had upset tummy and slight nausea, this then reverted to constipation which I managed with prunes. This lasted on and off for about 3 months.

I’ve lost 3 stone, never went up to max dose, took a few 2/3 week breaks whilst on it, started in Oct20.

I ensure I drink lots of water and honestly only eat when hungry, making sure I get all my vitamins etc ☺️

We’re all different but it really does work for me!

ItsDisneyBitch · 23/01/2022 12:20

@MirrorMirrorApplePie are you still on it?

Hi @ItsDisneyBitch, yes still on it. I stick to the lowest dose as long as possible, came off over Xmas, on again since start of the year and midway between dose 1 and 2

I've been reading up on this and some people expect to take it forever?
ItsDisneyBitch · 23/01/2022 20:45

@EmmaH2022 yes to maintain the weight loss.

Apart from said incident yesterday 🙈 I’m 4lbs down already.

OP are you all right now?

I must admit, I didn't give it a chance after being ill because I was so worried about taking it at all.

Now I'm more than two years on and still no loss....I wonder what happens if I just stick at the lowest dose for longer. Reading up on it, it seems like they give twice the dose for weight loss than diabetes.

I don't even take two paracetamol, I only ever take one!

ItsDisneyBitch · 23/01/2022 21:27

I’m fine now. Well fingers crossed. I did take Imodium so we will have to see if it happens again. God I hope not. I couldn’t bear the shame.

Maybe give it a break, then take it at a time when you're then home fir the night.
