Breastfeeding and calorie counting for weightloss - finding it impossible!

Gave birth to my daughter 7 weeks ago. I started eating well again on January 1st - I'm vegan so eat a lot of veg anyway, could probably eat more protein but I'm trying. Still been having sweet stuff but tracking absolutely everything on my fitness pal. I wear a Fitbit and do 10,000-14,000 steps per day. I'm 4 stone overweight and tall so burn a lot of calories.

My BMR is 2000 calories a day, and because I'm quite active I'm burning 3000-3500 a day, plus apparently breastfeeding burns approx 500 calories a day on top of that. Eating between 2000 and 2800 calories. So every day I'm in around a 1000-1200 calorie deficit not even including breastfeeding calories on top.

So why am I not losing any weight?! Since January 1st I've lost 2 pounds. That's it! 1lb the first week, 0.6lb the second, 0.4lb the following week. Why is it slowing down?! I've been in even more of a deficit and upped my steps this week too!

It's really getting me down. It's not like I've not got weight to lose. I weigh and track my food meticulously. Does weight just stick to you when you're breastfeeding? I thought it would be easier to lose weight while BFing but it's proving very difficult.

I'm panicking as I have 3 weddings to go to this year - and quite wanted this to be the year I get married myself! But I'm not doing it at this size. Sad

I would think you are either over-estimating your activity or under-estimating how much you eat.

Even going off your estimates, if you think you burn 3000 calories and eat 2800 then that’s only a tiny deficit.

After my second I waited until she was 12wks old then ate total 2000c a day, logged everything on my fitnessPal, plus walked an hour day as I did school run daily plus3x a week a 20min Hitt weights session. I still slowly lost 40lbs. It took me 6months to lose 30lbs breastfeeding the whole time, then another 6mths to lose the last10lbs! Good luck it takes time, some folk can just drop weight easily I’m not one of those…
