Any suggestions for a filling breakfast under 30 locals? I get so hungry get mid morning I need a good breakfast but don't want to use all my calories up!

Maybe just eat 1 or 2 locals or you’ll run out of villagers soon 😂

PurpleDaisies · 16/01/2022 17:57

Is that a typo? Do you mean 300cals?

Eggs are great for breakfast.

Wednesdayafternoon · 16/01/2022 17:58

Oh my goodness yes 300 kcals 😂 bloomin autocorrect!!!?

I tend not to have breakfast, so I don’t know how they stack up, calorie-wise, but do you have enough time in the mornings to make porridge? It might fill you up a bit longer. Or overnight oats.

PinkFizz1 · 16/01/2022 19:12

Porridge with fruit
Overnight oats with fruit
Boiled/scrambled/poached eggs

🤣
CrackerGal · 16/01/2022 19:17

Porridge is filling or I find weetabix is too. I don't think they're too many cals, or how many are you looking to get down to for breakfast?

PurpleDaisies · 16/01/2022 19:18

I made a batch of these last week. You can easily bath what goes in them. You can just zap a couple for half a minute in the microwave and then you’ve got breakfast ready to go.

ClariceQuiff · 16/01/2022 19:19

Omelette - you can add so many different things to it for variety and easily stay within 300 cals.

CrackerGal · 16/01/2022 19:20

Just saw the cals.
Or a slice of brown or soda bread, an egg or avocado, or brown toast & peanut butter & banana?

heidbuttsupper · 16/01/2022 19:26

I've been having overnight oats during the week. Really filling and can add different fruit

ClariceQuiff · 16/01/2022 19:34

Plain yoghurt and fruit makes a nice breakfast.

PrincessConsuelaBanana · 17/01/2022 07:48

I always struggle with breakfast too! My favourite at the minute is a chopped medium banana, 40g blueberries, 90g vanilla fat free yoghurt and 15g granola on top for 260 Cals. I really enjoy it and with a banana it’s more filling compared to just berries and yoghurt.

Westfacing · 17/01/2022 07:59

100g Full fat live bio yoghurt
50g defrosted frozen mango chunks
20g Dorset Cereals oat granola

Plus 100mls semi-skimmed milk in a latte

Approx 250 calories (locals!)

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 17/01/2022 08:17

A medium egg is 68 kcal, so I tend to have egg based breakfasts if I don't just skip it altogether in favour of giant coffees.

Boiled egg with asparagus spears for dipping.
Omelette with spring onions, peppers and hot sauce, or mushrooms and wafer thin ham.

You can also do a low cal 'fry up' - bacon, tinned tomatoes, fried mushrooms and fried egg. 2 x rashers of back bacon is 150, 68 for the egg then about 30 for mushrooms and tomatoes you can have loads of these for bulk. Use spray oil or a good nonstick pan.

Thank you all!
Today I had porridge with a grapefruit. My food shop is coming today and I've ordered some yogurts and I'm gonna get some nice fruit to go with it!
I need to get it out of my brain I need a big breakfast to survive 🙈

I think a big breakfast is great, if you’re hungry and if it helps keep you full for a long time. It’s just about knowing which foods are going to give you the right nutrients and keep you fuller, longer. It’s annoying that some cereals claim to be healthy and when you check, absolutely loaded with sugar. Good luck!

Wednesdayafternoon · 17/01/2022 08:55

@SingaporeSlinky yes you're so right, cereal just seemed to be such an intake of my calories and the portion they suggest is SO small. I feel like if I use 400 calls for breakfast I'll be so deflated and worried for the rest of the day 🙈

OP posts:
SingaporeSlinky · 17/01/2022 09:00

Yes it doesn’t seem ‘worth’ 400 if you’re on a limited amount for the day. The portion size they suggest on the box is tiny isn’t it. Overnight oats are nice, if you haven’t tried them, sometimes I find cooked porridge too stodgy and I couldn’t eat that every day, but just prepping oats the night before, you can add cinnamon or whatever, I added blueberries in the morning for some flavour, and a ton of flax seed, since everyone raves about them for health, and I can barely taste them. And a bit of honey.

actiongirl1978 · 17/01/2022 09:02

I always have a massive breakfast as I exercise first thing.

Some days I make banana pancakes - mash a banana, whisk in two eggs to make a 'batter' and fry in little spooned dollops in a non stick pan.

I then have on a plate with a big dollop of Greek yoghurt and berries, plus I drink two massive flat whites.

Wednesdayafternoon · 17/01/2022 09:36

I do love over night oats so maybe I will get back into those. I've never used flax seeds before though, are they calorie free 😂😂😂😂

Ahhh I make banana pancakes for my sons. I'm not a massive lover but banana and yogurt sounds very appetising!

I used to make pancakes with cottage cheese, oats and eggs whizzed up with a hand blender. It was low calorie and surprisingly filling (after the first time, I learned to make a 1/2 portion and I have a big appetite). I can't remember exactly which recipe I used but there are lots of versions around.

meliscanan88 · 17/01/2022 20:12
