What I’ve (re) learned about dieting

I’ve properly dedicated myself to losing weight after hitting my all time highest weight (13 stone 5 lbs).

Been at it for about a week. This morning I was 13.2.8

What I have learned

  • I thought I couldn’t lose weight. With proper calorie deficit I’ve been able to. I was also exercising every day because I was off work so I know the loss will slow down.
  • to lose weight I will have to tolerate being hungry. Hunger waxes and wanes - if I don’t eat the moment I feel a hunger pang, it doesn’t necessarily escalate to the point of pain/distress
  • I’m less bloated and gassy in the afternoon
  • I exercise a lot and my abs are already more visible with just a couple of pounds weight loss.

I want to get down from obese to merely overweight. First goal is to have a weight starting with a 12 rather than a 13.

I have learned that alchohol and weight loss are incompatible.

I am calorie counting and have ditched booze. Lost 5lb in 6 days.

I did the exact same before Xmas but did not drop wine - didnt lose an ounce.

I love this, on Monday I weighed in at 12st 5lbs - also higher than I’ve ever been (even at 9 months pregnant) for my height I should be around 9.5 stone (not happening) total aim is 2 stone off and I too have realised that by actually focussing on it and doing it properly instead of half arsedly it can work (sneaky weigh in today put me at 12st 2.8 already!!!

I’m going 16:8 tied in with WW. Eating window 11am - 7pm!

Good luck!
