Chocolate in the house

I love Chocolate and yesterday I went to M&S and bought lots of their reduced Chocolate at absolute bargain prices.

I need to reduce my sugar intake however and I'm now stressing about the amount of Chocolate in the house. I don't want to spend my evenings eating the stuff and feeling guilty the following day.

How can I healthily consume this Chocolate without me trying to eat it all in one go over the course of a week? Which is what usually happens.

I'd love to make Chocolate a part of a healthy, balanced diet but I really struggle to do it.

You could put a SMALL amount into 7 foil wraps ...and allow it each day - the rest to be hidden away maybe by a partner if you have one ?
Or limit it to saturdays and Sunday's ?

My technique with Christmas chocolate is to make it a substitute for puddings and breakfasts so the calories aren't extra iyswim. I also find it's best to break of the amount of chocolate you intend to eat, put the rest away, then take your chocolate off to another room to eat it. Otherwise it's always too tempting to have one more piece.

Oh, bad shopping decision!

Personally I would bin it. I wouldn’t be able to eat it sensibly.

I can’t have it in the house, the problem is that now you’ve bought it, you’re going to eat it. Can you give it away?

Put it in the freezer, in small portions, so you can't just grab and eat - you'll have to take out the amount you've planned into your daily eating in advance.

Thanks everyone!
-I'm going to have a go at restricting myself. Firstly, I've put it all in the freezing cold conservatory, under neath lots of other items so I have to put myself out to get it.

-I've portioned the quality street into bags of 6 chocolates, which is really good at stopping my DH from just eating all the nice ones too!

-I've meal and snack planned for the rest of the week so I know what food I'm eating and when to minimise the chances of me reaching for it when I don't know what to eat.

  • Going to have a portion as weekend treats- breakfast and desserts as suggested upthread.

-I'll enjoy a portion on Friday and Saturday evenings too.

-During period week, I'm going to have a portion as an afternoon snack.

-I'll log all my food on My Fitness Pal for the rest of the month which will hopefully keep my consumption low too.
