Pros are that you do lose weight quickly and you can eat as much as you like of low/zero carb foods.

Cons are that it's quite an expensive way to eat; it can be difficult if you are vegan/vegetarian and it's the kind of diet where one lapse has a very detrimental effect because it takes you out of ketosis.

Keto is more about becoming fat adapted and using fat as fuel rather than carbs/glucose. That fat could come from excess body fat or fat from food. This takes a while. In the meantime you do lose weight as the body depletes its glucose stores. Once you are fat adapted the body runs more efficiently and you have loads more energy and feel sharper mentally however the weight loss is more of a side effect of becoming fat adapted the other benefits of this WOE are why people stick to it after the initial weight loss. Have a look at Tuit nutrition (Amy Berger) online. There's really so much more to it than just cutting out carbs.

The pros (for me) are weight loss
clearer skin
less inflammation
mental clarity
Loads of energy
Hardly ever hungry

Cons
Having slightly different meals to family.
No carbs/sugar
Keto flu (temporary)

For me the cons are nothing compared to the benefits. As pp said , you can be knocked out of ketosis quite easily (a cheat meal etc) however it's really easy to get back on track. And once properly fat adapted it doesn't do too much damage, it really is a way of life though. Once you know the science behind it it changes everything you know about food.

Thanks for your both comments.

I had one more doubt, Did this diet will quit a person life suddenly or slowly?
