Chemical Breakdown Diet 3 days 8lb?????? what do you guys think???

I have been recommended the Chemical Breakdown diet by a friend and thought I would give it a go but I wondered if any one had any thoughts on how it works?

If it has worked for them and how dangerous it is?

I have started it this morning and after toast peanut butter and half a grapefruit this morning I am thinking that I am bored of this diet already .

This is what I was given:-

"FIRST DAY

Breakfast:
Black Coffee or Tea
1/2 Grapefruit
1 slice toast
2 tbs. peanut butter

Lunch:
1/2 cup of tuna (no mayo)
1 slice toast
Cofee or Tea

Dinner:
2 slices of any meat
1 cup of string beans
1 cup of beets
1 apple
1 cup of vanilla ice cream
-------

SECOND DAY

Breakfast:
1 egg
1/2 banana
1 slice of toast
Black Coffee or Tea

Lunch:
1 cup cottage cheese
5 saltines

Dinner:
2 hotdogs
1 cup broccoli
1/2 cup of carrots
1/2 banana (the other half from breakfast)
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
----------

THIRD DAY

Breakfast:
5 saltines
1 slice cheddar cheese
1 apple
Black Coffee or Tea

Lunch:
1 hard boiled egg
1 slice toast

Dinner:
1 cup of tuna
1 cup beets
1 cup cauliflower
1/2 cantaloupe
-----

In 3 days you will loose between 3 and 8lbs. (most do) After 3 days of dieting you can eat normal food, but don't overdo it. After 4 days of normal eating start back on your 3 day diet. You can loose up to 30 lbs in 40 days - if you stick with it. Worked for alot of people I know GOOD LUCK!!! "

It looks so scary but if it works then I could loose 8lb by the weekend and that seems unbelievable! too good to be true perhaps?!

anyone would loose weight just eating that.

sensible portion eating of fresh foods, low fat, fruit and veg plenty of variety and chuck in a bit of exercise is the way to go, these fad diets are just that.

what on earth are saltines hunni or beets is that sugar beet or beetroot

it is just a daft fad

Oh, I did this about 10 years ago as the 'British Heart Foundation' diet...

Think I lost a pound or something which I regained about 5 minutes after the last tuna and cauliflower meal...

It is an american copy I think! Ummm Beets are beetroot and saltines are crackers like tuc biscuits! I have done the breakfast and lunch ones but the thought of meat string beans and beetroot makes me feel quite ill! but I would really like to lose at least a little bit of weight before my partners fancy do on Saturday night.

I know its probably a bit too late but it would make me feel better about myself!

sounds very high in acid to me, as well as boring!
