HELP! Can't seem to diet

Hi. I put on 2 stone in my pregnancy and I'm now 10st 9lbs and I feel huge! I tried slim fast today and I am starving it's not for me. I've never been able to diet for even before I had the baby. Please can I have some tips how to lose weight without starvation !

3 meals a day, 1 or 2 planned snacks if you need them
Protein and fibre-y veg to fill you up
Knock off the sugar, white bread, biscuits, cakes, crisps, booze - only have them when you are out, for a treat.
Get a decent amount sleep (VITAL)
Walk every day (or excercise of your choice) - exercise doesn’t much help weight loss directly, but people who exercise maintain weight loss

Ranjan Chattejees lose weight feel great is a good general guide. Wacky diets do work for some people, but they are wacky.. sensible eating is a better move

I haven’t got much advice, other than i understand how you feel.

My daughter is how 4.5 years old and I’ve been on a diet ever since. I have literally lost 3lbs since giving birth! I’ve fluctuated up and down by about 9llbs, but I just slip into bad habits.

I want to lose a stone, but then I see something to snack on and I eat it and then feel bad for eating it and then eat more. I realise it’s and cycle to be in and I really want to and need to get out of it.

I’ve lost three stone before, and something just clicked and I never looked back, healthy eating and excersice works for me.

But I’m lazy and at the end of a very long day I can’t be bothered. However I need to find that ‘thing’ that just makes me get on the blo post train and do it!

Intermittent fasting, keto and calorie deficit works well. A typical day for me is 90 cal protein bar about 2pm , 5pm some cheddar about 1/3 size small match box with cucumber and tomato slices, 8pm bolognaise made with low fat beef mince , 1/4 of a red pepper fried in fry lite and half a bag of cauliflower rice. 10pm a bag of Cheetos maybe 3 or 4 times a week.
Drinks, water with fresh lime and two cups of real coffee with semi skimmed milk no sugar. Am not hungry at all and I was hungry on low cal diets alone.

It's so hard not to snack especially with no sleep and energy I see chocolate and want to eat the whole pack 😩😳 day 3 of slim fast and exercise today tho not weighed myself but hoping to get two stone off by a few months ! Wish me luck lol

Have any of you tried it , 2 shakes 3 snacks one 600 meal.. I'll see how it goes , I've heard of the fast 800 but don't know if I could do 800 cal

Wow and no exercise! Well done , I'm just going to have to learn willpower of not giving in all the time I definitely think I can do it. Thanks for the motivation 😁

Do u not get hungry ? I got told 800 cal is really unhealthy and it should be 1200 to lose , is that right ?

No I don’t get hungry , when I was eating carbs but low calorie I was constantly starving and couldn’t stick to it. I have 30-50 grams of carbs a day only and am not hungry.
I think it’s the lack of sugar cravings.
800 is very low though , I am in a wheelchair so I don’t need that many calories to maintain. 1200 does sound more appropriate for yourself.

Research the Fast 800 - it is perfectly safe to reduce to 800 calories for a short period.

If you stop eating, you stop feeling hungry, and if hunger comes and you wait it out, it passes.

My issue is that I eat when I am not hungry - I know I am not hungry, but I still eat! Currently at my heaviest ever weight and need to lose 1.5 stone. I have put a stone on since early July when we went on holiday and I didn't even gain much there!

That's like me I eat sometimes when I'm bored which is a bad habit but also my baby is only four months and he's going through a no sleep phase and I could literally eat all the chocolate but I am on day four slim fast i'm Tryna hit this goal of Two stone off by April do you reckon or later giving myself till August when my baby is one

Honestly I would stick with the August target , you have a young baby and sleep deprivation. Slow and steady is best to keep it off anyway.

Any of you done the fast 800 thinking to try, do u have to eat the recipe meals or can you eat anything that's just healthy but 800 cal a day?

Walking. Every day. Maybe I miss one day a week but today for instance, I've walked 5 miles.
If the weather is awful, I do some sit ups or something similar, but walking for me is key.
I tried C25K but I'm too old to be running 5km, so walking briskly is better for me.
