SW whilst pregnant - can someone please tell me how it works?

I just found out yesterday I am 4 weeks pregnant!

I haven't quite lost all the weight I wanted to and I've been doing SW for the last 3 months. I know it's supposed to be safe for pregnancy/breastfeeding, but what adjustments do you have to make?

(I could ask my consultant but I'd have to wait another week!)

Any ideas? Many thanks!

Should also add that last time I was pregnant I put on 4 stones and am keen not to turn into a water buffalo again this time!

You just follow the same diet when pregnant and whilst bf I think you increase your Healthy extras. I had all good intentions of carrying on with it at the beginning of this pregnancy I had lost nearly 4 stone but sadly it fell by the wayside. I'm now 37 weeks and intend to start again after the baby is born. I've put on around 2.5 stone but know if I get back on SW i'll lose it quickly. Good Luck!

Oh and Congratulations!!

Thanks Ledodgy!

I have to say my intentions have already slipped slightly, but I'm putting that down to having flu, rather than being pregnant. I really must be firm with myself this time, I had a field day last time, which was great fun, but am still a stone heavier than I was before I ever got pregnant.

2.5 stone doesn't sound bad - nearly half of that will be baby and baggage won't it? If I do that well this time I'll be pretty pleased.

Yeah it's not too bad i'm still lighter than I was when I first started SW which considering i'm so pregnant isn't bad going. I think a very strong oats craving at the beginning helped I ate oats and milk for breakfast and lunch for about 2 months! Mind you if I carry on eating like I have been for the last week in the next three i'll have put on another stone before the baby is born. Flu is horrible isn't it? I've woken up with the lurgy this morning and am also getting very strong Braxton Hicks and am hoping i'm not going to go into labour whilst feeling this crap!

boHOHOhemianbint · 15/12/2007 18:37

This flu is the worst thing ever - I've never had it before and it's awful! Fingers crossed for you that you stay lurgy free! You must be getting really excited now?

I've been going mental for marmite for the last week (more so than usual) which is fine, apart from I need to put it on something, and crumpets are the best thing. I've fallen off the wagon a bit, I really need to pull my finger out, but it's not the best time of year for that is it?!

I also bought the Davina before and after pregnancy workout dvd which is good although I only did it for the first month and kind of gave up. Intend to do it 6 weeks after baby is born though. What size are you? I only ask because i've got this maternity dress in a size 18 if that's your size. If it is you're welcome to it , it's extremly flattering and can be dressed up or down. I'd like to pass it on as I won't be able to get my wear out of it now I wore it for a couple of parties at around 26 weeks pregnant and got loads of compliments.

boHOHOhemianbint · 17/12/2007 13:13

I'll check out that dvd!

Re the dress, that's so kind of you that I actually just welled up. I thought I couldn't get any more lame but this second pregnancy's making me even worse! I'm a size 14 (at the mo) which is gutting because that dress looks beautiful! Thank you for the offer though, it was so kind of you. Isn't Mumsnet lovely! Sniff...

Aww just noticed your last message. It's a shame you can't use the dress but fab you're only a size 14! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy if it's anything like mine it will fly by!

Thanks very much again, and good luck! Your baby will be on the outside before you know it! Have a fabulous Christmas. x
