Including fresh fruit/veg etc

Hello,

So I’m an ex SW-er who is trying to get out of unhealthy habits and make progress with CC. The only thing (when I’ve done it in the past) is I’ve found I won’t be filling my plate with fruit or veg/salad bits and chose to have 50-75 cal (approx) more pasta for example.

How do you all include having a good helping of fresh fruit and veg with your meal?
Whilst on SW I was always having the 1/3 with every meal but unsure what others do and the general rule for these things?

Thank you in advance!

What's SW and CC?

Don’t calorie count fruit and veg, simple 😬 Nobody got overweight/ failed to lose weight because they filled their plate with veg, or snacked on apples between meals.

If you eat green leafy veg they have few calories but a lot of nutrition.

I always have 1/2 - 1/3 plate of veg with every meal. I don’t tend to have much fruit as I am not keen

Just eat as much veg as you want (except potatoes). Go easy on the fruit.

I aim at 1/3 of my shop by value is a wide variety of fruit & veg, and make sure we eat them all. It evens out.

Just watch your fruit intake - not all calories are created equal. Be conscious of high sugar fruits and high carb veggies.

Think unlimited low GI veggies and 1/2 serves fruit. Lots of salad, and an apple and berries as an example.

Since Feb I'm down 40 kilos - my dinner included a salad of lettuce, cucumber, broccoli, beans, capsicum, carrot, cheese (limited) - it was literally enough for 2 or 3 people. Served with 150gram of grilled chicken breast in chilli flakes and lime juice.

The only fruit I have is in my protein smoothie - 1/2 banana and small handful of mixed berries (I also throw in a handful of kale).

I found by dropping a lot of fruit the weight has been dropping off after a plateau.

Just to add, I limit potatoes quite significantly, once a month I'll treat myself to roasties with Sunday dinner.

I actually really love mashed cauliflower now - with butter and milk it's surprisingly really good replacement for mashed potatoes.

Wow that's a fantastic loss!

Congratulations!
