Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone who was around a size 20 or 17st lost a lot of weight (6 stone ish) would mind sharing what they did and how long it took.

My initial plan is to eat less, more healthy foods, move more and calorie count but I would like to hear some specifics please - thank you.

I was 15 1/2 st now 13 stone.

Much harder to lose at 41 than even 5 years ago. But what worked was some super strict fasting weeks (I did James Duncan) and then calorie counter using nutracheck (paid for app but cheap and well worth it around £25 per year I know it's only cheap if you have a spare £25 but cheat than a month of slimming world)

I'm super strict on calories Mon- Fri (around 1000 and have the same food everyday which I like the routine of) and have a lax Saturday and moderate Sunday. I find if I go off the rails totally it's impossible to get back on.

Sorry pressed send too soon.

I'm not saying I have 1000 everyday but I aim for that and 800 two days a week. I ended up having pizza and chocolate at work when we worked late.

Fast 800 by Micheal Mosley is good to read abs watch the tv series. Try James Duncan diet. It's all out how dramatic weight loss can be beneficial and lose more than you need to so you have some to "wriggle room". Lots will say this isn't healthy way to lose weight but neither is exante or saxenda or... whatever!

Boiled eggs if you are Hungary and need a snack. Rich tea biscuit for a sweet treat.

Saturday and I eat with husband either going out or cook At home or a take away, sundays I might have a Sunday dinner but portion control.

Typical working day
B- one toast and jam (no butter)
L-ham, melon, 8 grapes, peach and figs
D- chicken, brocoli carrots (sauce eg bbq Mayo Caesar)
Mini vienetta (Aldi)
Gin and tonic.

Snacks of crackerbread and low fat cream cheese or slim a soup.

I found doing the James Duncan diet I lost 11lbs the first week and it's hugely motivating -
Even though it's mainly water weight.

I got some renpho scales (around £25 on Amazon ) and I weigh everyday I log my losses and ignore my gains

I feel better and look better and I love clothes so this has been hugely motivating for me.

Good luck.

I went from 17 1/2 stone to 13 stone in about a year. Maintained for about a year. Got lax and put a stone and a half back. Got rid of that plus another stone in about 6 months and have maintained for a couple of years.

My method is 16:8 fasting (I have never liked breakfast so it's quite easy for me) combined with vigorous exercise and calorie counting. I log all my food and drink and make sure that I have a calorie deficit of roughly 500 calories per day (averaged out over a week) if I am actively trying to lose weight.

I used to enjoy drinking lager but knocked that on the head. I have cut down alcohol a lot. If I drink these days it will be wine or maybe gin and slimline tonic. I also cut out sugar wherever reasonably possible and cut back carbs. My diet is fairly high protein and fairly high fat and that keeps my hunger at bay.
