Lost a lot of weight, 2 stone to go, and I can’t do it

Help. I’ve gone from 17 stone to 12 but I’ve now stopped.

I’ve lost motivation. No time to exercise and I keep falling off the wagon Blush

Can anyone help? Going away at half term and would love to shift half a stone before then.

Wow, that's an amazing achievement! I've read that it makes sense to take occasional maintenance breaks when losing weight. Your body resets at your new weight so that becomes your new base weight if that makes sense. Could you try to maintain 12 stone for 6 months or so and then try to lose the next stone or 2?

@Littletownwithashop - that's an amazing achievement, well done! I've lost a similar amount and have a similar amount to go. For various reasons I took a two month 'maintenance break' over the summer. I stayed fairly much the same for that time and I'm back losing again with renewed vigor! I was a bit stuck before the break and struggling with snacking. I had hoped to be at my goal weight by Christmas, but I put that target back to the spring. It makes very little difference in the long term, but I'm really glad I took that break. It really helped me with my focus and determination and I'm back to steady losses now.
I did some reading over the summer holidays which helped to reset my mindset too. Tom Watson - Downsizing , Gillian Riley - Ditching Diets and Andrew Jenkinson Why we eat (too much). I also listened to a podcast called 'A Thorough Examination' on Spotify.
Everyone reaches this point in weight loss. Very often people (including myself on many occasions) throw in the towel and end up heavier than when they started. It's tricky, but I think success lies in developing a mental strategy to overcome these periods. I often ask myself what my future self in 6 months time would advise me to do.
Sorry my post is a bit of a ramble but I hope you find something helpful in there...

I'm in a similar situation. Haven't had the motivation to restart after the summer break during which I have put about 6lb back on. Joining the thread to see if that helps get me back on the right path.

I'm in the same boat, final stone to go after being low carb for over 2 years and losing a lot.

Can't seem to get in the right frame of mind and get back on it, really struggling with the urge to binge eat at the same time as being terrified of putting all the weight back on plus more.

I'm still going too. 16stone to 11.12 this year. Only want to lose another 7lbs but it's super slow now. How tall are you OP? I'm 5ft 8. Do you really need to lose another 28lbs?

Thecatsbutler · 01/10/2021 21:43

No advice, but in the same boat. Lost 70lbs, had another 20lbs to go. Totally lost my direction and have subsequently gained 30lbs. I know I'm overeating all the wrong things, I have no motivation to exercise. Don't know what happened, and can't seem to stop. Very disappointed in myself😡😢
